@TheMindScourge How are they going to "work around" it? By building pipelines Iran can blow up? The fossil fuels are in the Gulf, you can't "work around" that. Outside countries will reduce their dependence on Gulf fuel, sure, but the Gulf states themselves are in big trouble.

They think that Iran is now in a position of strength, having exercised its Hormuz option. But the opposite is true. A state is weakest after it has used its deterrent. The cost of that deterrence is now priced in. The worst having been done, the targets of the deterrent are now free to make other arrangements. Before, they were reluctant to do so because of the switching costs. Now, they have no choice; they will not allow themselves to be controlled in this way again Hormuz may never reopen. But the importance of this is a depreciating asset.

Did you play this classic back in the day? Wings (1990) was Cinemware's last game - and maybe also their best? I know, the argument can be made for Defender of the Crown or It came from the Desert, but in terms of graphics, music, design and immersion, Wings felt absolutely awesome. The career mode and mission briefing felt like an old school movie. It was also brutally hard, especially the dogfights... Cinemaware didn't have the longest of runs and I always wondered how a team that created so many hits was not able to last longer. I know, people will bring up the argument of "too many illegal copies in the 80s and 90s" and while that's valid, it also applied to all, not just Cinemaware. Certainly a shame that they only lasted from 1986 to 1991.

@exQUIZitely It was extremely good - quite moody and emotional at times, as was the soundtrack. The difficulty level was very high. Eventually it seemed to me to become basically impossible to progress.

@TheGeorgePu They have 'tradesmen's entrances' in western countries too. Mostly so you don't get paint on the office workers/shoppers and marble lift or clog up the lift traffic moving bricks. Almost sounds sensible.

Yes,we hear the interceptions. Yes, we get alerts.Yes, there are reports of debris&damage in some areas. No one is pretending otherwise.But despite all that, we feel safe enough to carry on with our daily lives because we trust the systems in place and follow safety guidance

Some of that was VERY LOUD above us today. We felt it in the house with doors & windows rattling. Really quite unnerving. And people in the UK are laughing. Something wrong with anyone who reacts like that.
