This roller system to enable plaster to look like recessed rubble stonework takes me back to sitting in Filey bus station late one winter night in the early 1970s having been listening to King Crimson's The Court of the Crimson King. I still have flashbacks.

Lincoln Cathedral has some really amazing decoration…I think these faces on the west front are amongst the most unusual and intriguing though! 😀 This is just a snapshot - they go all the way around one of the innermost arches of the west doorway!
