Here's the alpha. @ExponentFinance is paying you to put limit orders (at a specified range) with 200% APY on YTs. Imagine you're just placing limit orders and you still earn. But what if you get filled? This is where the underlying concept comes in. The YT you're buying is $ONyc, which is yield bearing. Meaning it has a certain yield just from holding it. This yield is called the underlying yield, and currently it's 11.87%. The next concept is implied yield. Think of it as your entry price when you buy YTs. It's denominated in APY too, because this tells you what % you need to get your capital back. This is only true for yield bearing ones. For YTs that aren't yield bearing, you only get points. But you still use the concept of IY as your entry, for comparison and to know how much YT leverage you'll get. So now we have both concepts. What you need to recover your capital is around 11.87% or below, because that's the underlying yield. So since the valid range for rewards is 11.6% to 14.4% right now (this can change depending on how the market moves), you're actually fine placing around 11.7%, which is what I have for most of my position. If I get filled at 11.7%, I'll recover my capital by maturity, provided the underlying stays the same at 11.87%. Haha, still with me? If you're confused, go back first to the concepts of YTs, PTs, SY, yields, etc. But right now, this is a money printer even if you get filled. Just make sure your limit orders are within the rewards range. Don't spread this around, let's keep it between us.
