Being accepted doesn’t mean they qualify. Have you ever been to an asylum hearing? Whether a case gets granted or not completely depends on how lenient a judge. Also, people submit false and fabricated documents all the time. The undocumented immigrants know the game better than anyone else. This actually sucks because it prevents real asylum seekers from getting asylum seekers.

@urgentintel @CatoInstitute @David_J_Bier This is false actually. The real numbers are that ~1/3rd are turned away at the border, and then among those that are admitted, roughly half have their claims accepted.

First of all, international law might as well be a fairytale. But more importantly, drug cartels have been designated as terrorists under the US law, and as such, are treated the same as enemy combatants. You don’t think we should’ve grabbed every ISIS member and given them a full due process before dropping bombs on them with drones, do you? In fact ISIS terrorists killed less Americans than the narco traffic or skill each year by transporting and selling drugs to the US. If your argument is going to be that they wouldn’t bring drugs here unless there was demand for it, then by your logic you should also argue that we should let people in the streets do fentanyl and heroin because they demand it even though it’s bad for them and can and often does kill them.

I’m responding to a post made by an embassy. Comment sections are provided so people can comment on posts made by other users. Many times the user making the comment understands that the person making the post may never read their comment, and so the comment is made with the other users in the comments section being the target audience. So, in what world is this comparable to an older person yelling at a TV? You were trying to be funny by making fun of the elderly, but you were not funny because you cannot put together a legible paragraph, because your attempted joke was not funny, because your own response to my comment disproves the assumption behind your joke, and because I’m a millennial, not a boomer. Hope this was a learning moment for you.

Hey i/o, just out of curiosity, since you’ve looked into IQ test studies of different population groups (jews, blacks, etc.), have you ever looked into IQ studies of Armenians? I’ve heard from a lot of friends from former Soviet Republics that Armenians (along with Jews) were disproportionately (based on their population size) in top academic, scientific, and other professions in the USSR. Thought it might be something you might be interested in.

Yeah this is the genocide of the oldest official Christian nation they don’t teach us about in school. Massacre of 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Turks. And the most fucked up thing is that Turkey refuses to acknowledge it as a genocide. The Armenians are one of the most ancient peoples in the world and they’ve lost all the land which to this date is referred to as the Armenian Highlands. Now they’re stuck with a tiny country. A truly tragic story.

Over the past 24 hours, more than 20 vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz According to The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials, commercial ships were moving both into and out of the Persian Gulf. The U.S. blockade did not apply to them, as they were not traveling to or from Iran. Since Sunday, the U.S. Navy has reportedly intercepted at least eight oil tankers attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports.
