Alright everyone we're going a bit rogue here. We have a bit of an experimental feature that's in development we want to test and we'd love for you to help. As of Wednesday morning 3/18 at 10am PT, we'll be enabling a limited time duos queue on Perimeter only to test how the game plays with crews of 2 at a wider scale. Important things to note:
-- It will be on Perimeter only for now.
-- The test will last about 2 weeks (but we might cut it off early or elongate it depending on what's going on).
-- You can only enter duos with a premade group of you and another friend. (no matchmaking solo into duos).
-- You will be matched with other duos only.
-- You can select "Perimeter - Duo" from the zone select screen to access it. (not the final intended ux flow right now)
-- Some things will be a bit jank.
Just a note: this is a bit of an experimental feature so we expect to learn some things along the way and make changes to future versions of this. This likely won't be the final implementation of how it would look and flow in the game, but for now it was easiest way for us to get it to you all to help us test.
We're excited to run this experiment with you all. Pending what we learn, we're hoping to expand duos as a queue in the future and we wanted to take this first step sooner than later so we could understand how it affects our game better before investing a lot more time in fleshing out the feature.
Additionally, this is unlikely to be the last experiment we run, so look forward to more as we continue to evolve Marathon. FOR SCIENCE!

@normposter The farthest I’ve gotten is this mission with rogue ai cars that you have to track down, then fight I guess? Don’t remember. Mission was annoying and I haven’t returned since. No way I’m paying $30 or whatever for the liberty dlc. The OG overhyped fail.

@Ruleof2Review I’m just settling into marathon. The grind is real.
English

There was a time 2-3 years ago where a game world of this size would’ve gotten me so excited.
Cut to today and I just don’t have the time or interest to play games of this scale anymore. I don’t want 1,000 side quests. I’m 45 trying to balance work, life, and hobbies. I’m good.

Crimson Desert world is so massive and diverse, it took John Linneman from Digital Foundry roughly 4 hours of traversal and exploration to go from the opening village to the desert. He also noted that he hasn't felt this need to explore since RDR2 and Breath of the Wild.

@creedxdesign I love the 3d printed look. The attachments are very visible on the guns, unlike most games you can’t tell it’s modded. I love the huge scopes. It’s just a fun game.

@sc0nesandc0ffee @Jaylovesleep Oh yeah, back in the first month of release there would be what seemed like server connection issues that would cause a disconnect then crash the game. Restarting and reconnecting to your dead body was…disappointing. I’m very impressed with marathon’s stability.
English

@voxtechbit @Jaylovesleep I had ARC crash on me 3 times and went from god tier status to broke. THAT hurt.
English

Dear Bungie,
I don’t know what magic or drugs or other substances you put into Marathon but I logged in tonight, and was having a very rough night mentally, and lord did I fail 5-6 times (not always death just exfil without finishing the task)before I completed my contract and I wasn’t mad. I was having fun.
Every. Single. Run.
If I get nothing else in life, please have @MarathonTheGame have a long life. Please. 💚

@TheRonLedfordJr @XFreeze @grok @grok list examples of corporations “accidentally” or “inadvertently” doing what their tos said they wouldn’t do, regarding user data.
English

@NathanMcNulty OpenAI made a legitimate complex piece of software. That required talented engineers to build. Then Microsoft bought access to it, and now we see cheap h1b labor struggle to capitalize on the tech the real engineers built. It’s hilarious. Short microslop.
English

@bestinclassyt We used to call it bunny hopping and you’d get pwned. Now it’s how people play. I hate jumping into doorways and corners. Annoying slop.
English

People that play like this is what ruined gaming bro…

Black Ops 1 movement is crazy

@Jaylovesleep @sc0nesandc0ffee Yep when I die with good weapons and stuff it’s ok because my vault is full of more of it. It’s a favor to get ganked occasionally. Versus arc or eft where the weapons are incredibly precious.
English

@sc0nesandc0ffee Marathon is the only game where i kinda want to lose gear so i am motivated to go out and get more again.
They broke my brain i think.
English

@sc0nesandc0ffee Agreed. No gear fear. It’s weird but they’ve made it “cheap” to just go in and play. And not worry about dying to uesc or a player. Game is fun.
English

@Cephas_Badger @DeItaone Check out this minimax 2.5 fine tune for the DGX. It’s fast and is great for coding:
huggingface.co/saricles/MiniM…
English

@voxtechbit @DeItaone Yeah, I'm a fan of Qwen3.5 35B HauHauCS Uncensored. Art - SDXL, and LTX 2.3 for video.
English

@kiaran_ritchie Agreed. I bought an nvidia DGX Spark and now I firmly believe the future of ai is local. I have unlimited inference on my desk. I can fine tune models. Everything I need and it’s expandable, but running a 200B parameter model is sufficient.
English

I don't see how Anthropic, OpenAI or any of the model providers have any hope of defending their moats. And consequently, I think they're going to get wiped out.
Right now, in early 2026 they have a meaningful advantage in terms of model capability. But far cheaper and open source models are not far behind.
How long can they maintain a meaningful advantage? For the vast majority of use cases, we don't actually need much higher intelligence. It doesn't take 140 IQ to automate Turbotax or powerpoint.
Eventually we will be saturated in cheap, local models that are "good enough". Of course some scientific labs and frontier research will always want the latest and greatest. But that market is orders of magnitude smaller than these company valuations can justify.
What am I missing?
English

@voxtechbit @Grummz Ah yes because as we know, indie card battler games are far more popular among normies than FPS games made by fucking bungie
Just stop bro
English

This was the ideal test case of every excuse AAA shill and dev has trotted out:
- Well that game was free. (no)
- They didn't launch at the same time (they did)
- It was a work week so numbers were low (Slay the Spire smashed through to new peaks)
- It was a well beloved IP and studio (so was Bungie).
When will the excuses stop and the much needed self reflection begin?
AAA can't begin to fix things until they are willing to be honest that their games failed for good reason. They were mid.

@devoidofliberty @The_Kremlinn @georgegalloway @netanyahu @IsraeliPM Something would change. Netanyahu has been essentially a dictator for decades. No elections.
English

@The_Kremlinn @georgegalloway @netanyahu @IsraeliPM He’s just the head cog that will be swiftly replaced, probably with someone even more deranged
English

Heads up EVERYONE. @netanyahu is DEAD
Official X handle of @IsraeliPM just deleted this tweet
REMEMBER my tweet about Israel Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant left a press conference to talk to Trump directly on call, on return he was visibly shaking.
Now the PM's office is urging citizens to rely on verified updates.
One thing is clear.
@netanyahu is DEAD.

English

@Ziegler_Dev I am loving the game btw. Thanks! I was very skeptical about it, I played the Server Slam, and you have made an awesome and unique game. Keep going!!
English

Shout out to everyone for giving us active feedback on the patch notes and changes!
Re: the audio broadcast distance change, we originally wanted to give everyone more info in the map and make it easier to make choices around audio: where people are, what's happening on the map, whether to run towards or away from danger, but we're hearing we overdid it a bit and looking to pull back the range in an upcoming patch. This change should till give some of that benefit but at a distance that feels more comfortable and intuitive to everyone.
Keep the feedback coming! Even if we're not actively changing something about it right now, I can assure you it's being catalogued and looked at (we have a big list).

@sciencegirl Quake.
Every 3d fps you play is derived from Quake. Including the modding ability. Carmack is a genius. @ID_AA_Carmack
