Republicans can mock the No Kings protests all the want, but the reality is it just grew from 6 million to 8 million people in a few months. 3,300 rallies in all 50 states, many in suburbs and small towns.
Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress see the writing on the wall. A record 36 are retiring early. Donald Trump is sitting around 40% approval at best, closer to the low 30s by some measures.
When a president is under 50%, their party historically loses an average of 34 seats in Congress. Democrats only need a handful of seats. The energy is real and it is growing.

@ReturnoftheDal @TonerousHyus gas is temporarily higher. In texas during biden we consistently had 3.30 gas all 4 years. Trump got us under 2.50 within a month of taking office. We were under 2 before iran. Yes when ukraine first happened gas here in TX Peaked at 4.99. it’s peaked at 3.99 right now

The pro war side can dismiss this all they want. Go ahead. All I can tell you is that I personally know multiple VERY conservative lifelong Republicans voters who are so furious and feel so betrayed that they’re planning to sit out the midterms. I don’t think that’s the right move and don’t encourage it. But this is something I’m hearing pretty often. People are pissed. Maybe that doesn’t show up on this site. Maybe it doesn’t show up yet in the polls. But it’s real. Go talk to people. Actual human people.

Some people, particularly on the Left, believe that Trump's collapsing poll numbers with the under-30s are because he's not Progressive enough for them.
That is not the reason why.
His approval is collapsing with younger voters because they're still struggling economically. At best, they've been treading water since he took office, but that means very little to them because their quality of life took an absolute nosedive under Biden.
We live in a decidedly non-ideological age. Younger people disapprove of Trump not for ideological reasons, but because of a combination of quality of life, vibes, and the fact that he appears to have not gone far enough in taking a sledgehammer to the existing DC establishment.
What younger people want more than anything is to be able to get a well-paying job, buy a house, start a family, and see Washington DC burn to the ground from their front porch. Insofar as they see these things are not happening, they'll continue to sour on anyone and everyone in politics who comes along.
