@jamesghia @real_lord_miles They will enjoy that independence for about ... five minutes? The ink on their new constitution won't even have time to dry. Like it or not, those are the realities.

@real_lord_miles Greenland belongs to the people of Greenland. They can become independent at the drop of a hat, if they so choose.

@falkrak @mattforney You surely aren't making any friends. Is this your definition of "being back"? Entering the room, farting wildly in all directions, everyone else runs for the exits... Now all alone on the dance floor in cowboy outfit shouting "Yeah, I win the room". ? Party just moves elsewhere.

She's scared. Denmark is scared. After seeing how Trump curbstomped Maduro, they know a) he's serious about getting Greenland b) he WILL invade Denmark to get it if necessary and c) nobody will help Denmark. The Danish choice now is to either sell Greenland or lose it in a war.

NEW - Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen says "the US has no right to annex any of the three nations in the Danish kingdom" and demands that Trump "stop the threats."

@DanielA01898935 @juhotunkelo @Erik_Hamre @mattforney If made properly, it makes good sense. Can't defend it anyway. We are Scandi/European, not Arctic. Time for us to concentrate on Europe and be less sentimental in this new world. No, I'm no Trump fan. Idiot? You're entitled to that opinion if you like 👍

@juhotunkelo @Erik_Hamre @mattforney Far away and undefendable (for Denmark), the Greenlanders generally don't want us there but also want independence (practically impossible), culturally alien (we are not an Arctic nation), its a financial black hole and is proxy-colonial. If a reasonable deal can be struck👍

@mattforney Denmark has about 200 military personnel on Greenland and the US has 600. We could bolster that to thousands in a matter of hours. It’s a simple matter of telling the Danes it’s ours now and asking them to leave. There is nothing on Earth that could stop us.

@whoisisthis @mattforney I haven't seen any "deal" presented yet? Only (thinly) veiled threats. How'd you react? Perhaps dick-like? This is not like selling a used car. Those are real people. You don't just sell off your own citizens in some "deal". Many families are now half DK/GRL by intermarriage...

@dddd82560622 @mattforney Finally some sense in this s**t-stained thread. The US certainly isn't making any friends with the current policy (although I can almost hear pudolf, Kim, Xi and all the other despots rubbing their hands with glee). But perhaps they are your new "friends"? 👀

But why anger and humiliate a vassal? It's just going to upset not just Denmark but all the other Western European states as well. They might do something rash like sign a trade and military agreement with China or Turkey. So it is a huge downside risk and what benefit do we get from annexing Greenland? There no natural resources we can't get elsewhere for cheaper. And as for military installations, we have carte blanche already. And let's be real here. Trump wants Greenland so that the US will look bigger on the map and he needs fake victories because his Presidency is floundering. He is a petty, insecure man suffering from a worsening dementia.

@ErikStrandgaard @MarkusFinnland @William_Hahne Hardly "nazi"... Forced to align with WW2 Germany, as nobody else could/would help against the ruzzian threat. Same with the Ukraine "nazi" nationals. They just wanted the ruzz gone. Can't blame them - ruzzia has never "created" anything else than oppression, death and misery...

A strong Nordic Union instead of the corrupt and dysfunctional EU 🇸🇪🇸🇯🇫🇮🇩🇰🇮🇸 A Nordic Union would be a regional powerhouse in the emerging multipolar world, strong enough to defend our interests and secure strategic autonomy. It’s time to join forces with our fellow Northmen, resolve our immigration crisis through large-scale remigration, and build a strong, proud, and equal union that respects each state’s sovereignty while uniting geopolitically, economically, technologically, and militarily. Together, we can become a power to be reckoned with, a region that shapes its own destiny. Unite the North!

Congratulations to all of Russia's friends (and especially the imbecile Belgian Minister of Defence) on the successful test of the Poseidon nuclear-powered underwater drone. Unlike the Burevestnik, the Poseidon can be considered a true doomsday weapon ⚡️💀

@Moscow_Man924 @MedvedevRussiaE It is the West's fault, that the ruzzianz unilaterally expanded the strategic toolbox with hypersonics, burevestnik and now this stealthy first-strike abomination? 🙄

Congratulations are in order — both to Russia’s partners and to the Belgian defense minister, who has once again proven remarkably helpful as a free publicity agent. The Poseidon test isn’t theater; it’s a deliberate move in the calculus of deterrence. Unlike some elusive projects that live in PowerPoint, this demonstrates an operational capability that complicates any adversary’s thinking about naval and coastal strategy. That said, celebrating new strategic tools without acknowledging the responsibility that comes with them is naïve. Weapons that change the strategic balance demand a level of diplomatic maturity and restraint that most Western hawks have never shown. If anyone is surprised, they should check who spent the last decade expanding the arena where such capabilities even matter.

@Aalyateem @Fran1Jody @MedvedevRussiaE Nothing cool about this. It is a potential first-strike weapon, and a "sneaky" on at that, tipping the nuclear balance doctrines. The ruzzianz just made the world a more dangerous place. Why are retards like you so fascinated by such shit? -Oh, I forgot - because you are retards.

@_GhosTrades_ @ZG44_Analytics @throneofluck @PressSec @svdate Rønne/Nexø *was* bombed by rus to force the Ger garrison into surrender. The houses was not rebuilt by US, they were rebuilt by Denmark and Sweden. It was the Danish gov that negotiated the ruz withdrawal Sønderborg is not on Bornholm, you are thinking of DK/Ger 1864 war?

Bullshit. Talk to the people who lived through it, not your history books. Hundreds of homes in Ronne were bombed by Russians. True?? They were rebuilt by US forces and are still standing today. Talk to victims in sondervorg who were pillaged and raped enmasse. The US forces came through and strong armed russia into leaving.

For context, S.V. Dáte of the Huffington Post is not a journalist interested in the facts. He is a left-wing hack who has consistently attacked President Trump for years and constantly bombards my phone with Democrat talking points. Just take a look at @svdate’s feed, it reads like an anti-Trump personal diary. Here is my full response to his “inquiry.” Activists who masquerade as real reporters do a disservice to the profession.

Congratulations to HuffPost for eliciting the most legendary response from the White House. HuffPost asked who picked the location for Trump's upcoming meeting with Putin. @PressSec responded: "Your mom did." @StevenCheung47 responded: "Your mom." Hilarious responses.

@_GhosTrades_ @ZG44_Analytics @throneofluck @PressSec @svdate Dane here to update: Neither US or Russia liberated Denmark. That was the british with Montgomery. Only the Baltic Sea island of Bornholm was held by the Russians from '45 to '46. There were some incidents of drunken improper conduct, but no systemic raping/pillaging etc.

I’m Danish by descent. I know very well that Russia “liberated” Denmark in World War II only to rape, pillage and plunder it until US forces kicked them out (not well known historical fact). In fact, the only bombs dropped on Denmark were Russian bombs. However, it is also true that NATO had grown far beyond its charter and certainly gives the appearance of being an aggressor, and is viewed as such but Russia. The US would never allow neighbors pointing missiles at us across our border as NATO countries do with Russia. I understand and sympathize the threat Russia poses, and the fear of that. But I also see that we are expecting things of them that we would never tolerate for ourselves. This is why the only solution is peace talks and difficult concessions on both sides.
