This is certainly the most insulting statement by EFF leader at this time. He has completely lost the plot. Insensitivity of the worst kind to the family and the South African people at large.

EFF Leader Julius Malema Faces Backlash After Amplifying Calls for Arrest of Vosloorus Shop Owner Mazwi Kubheka, Claiming He Faked His Own Kidnapping After Being Found Alive Following Month-Long Ordeal EFF leader Julius Sello Malema faces intense criticism after reposting claims that Mazwi Kubheka faked his kidnapping. The 27-year-old Vosloorus spaza shop owner disappeared on 2 April 2026 after refusing to sell his shop owners to foreign spaza shop owners and was found alive on 2 May 2026 at Vosloorus police station following a month-long ordeal. Malema amplified a post by an X account that appears to be an EFF follower, Msunu ka Johann Rupert stating: "Arrest Mazwi Khubeka for faking his kidnapping; and charge him for perjury, fraud, aswell as wasteful expenditure of state resources." Gauteng officials confirmed the abduction involved South Africans, Ethiopians and Malawians tied to a spaza shop dispute. Social media users called Malema a disgrace for suggesting the victim staged the crime. Critics labelled the move heartless and inhumane, accusing him of siding against local victims while community marches pressured for Kubheka’s release. Kubheka is recovering in a safe house after medical checks, while police pursue the syndicate. The episode has fuelled accusations that the EFF leader is out of touch with township concerns over crime and local businessmen allegedly being bullied foreign nationals.

Haibo Minister 😳😳 the Immigration Act regulates exactly that IMMIGRATION ‼️‼️ You have your own acts that you can use to regulate the running of small businesses in the country, there’s an entire small enterprise amendment bill kanti what was that about??
Stella Tembisa Ndabeni@Stellarated

🚨FAKE!FAKE!FAKE🚨 Please note that the caption in this video is incorrect. I do not regulate spaza shops. The Immigration Act 13 of 2002 regulates foreign nationals conducting business in the country.

A 21-year-old young girl, Londy Mpofu, has gone missing after leaving home on Thursday. She told her mother she was going to visit friends while her mother was at work. Later that day, her mother received a call from someone named Ndiya, who said Londy was safe and had gone to look for a job, promising she would return on Friday. However, she never came back. When the family tried to call Ndiya again that evening, her phone was no longer reachable. To make matters worse, Londy left her own phone at home, so there has been no direct way to contact her. She lives in Reservoir Hills, and the last information linked her to Morningside. The family is now concerned and asking for help in locating her.

Why are these Zimbabwean FRAUDS given a platform to talk on our national tv? This one is not a South African, he was chased away by Mugabe and didn’t remember his rights in Zimbabwe but here in SA he has a bigmouth!
