I think the most distasteful thing about #spygate is the reaction from Saints fans and staff. Eckert acting without class or remorse, their captain making mocking gestures and abusing Ayling, and their fans pelting the Boro coach and now playing the victim. Wankers.

Anyone looking to downplay Southampton’s actions here are simply condoning cheating. A man, with recording equipment, travelled hundreds of miles less than 72hrs before kick off to film an opponent, when the rules state you can’t. Banged to rights. #Boro

But it isnt “financial doping” or a “loophole” Gibson’s funding of the club through debt-to-equity conversion is entirely legal, transparent, and operates within the regulatory system.

Absolute delusional We understand Saints beat Boro, we understand Saints were the better team, we understand that Boro shouldn’t be in the final. But Saints literally spied on Boro. Not maybe, not alleged, 100% made the decision to spy on Boro on the eve of a playoff game. That is what is unlawful and that is what needs to be punished.

Right to fight this. Southampton spying on our training session before such a huge game is a serious breach of sporting integrity. Disagree with many ways the club is ran, but good to see Gibson & the club properly defending our interests and pushing for a sporting sanction.
