If Australian capital city house prices were to fall by 20%, the median would still be $933k. If they fell by 30%, it would be $817k. Not exactly cheap....

Instead, they are paid an ongoing, fixed annual salary set by the Commonwealth Remuneration Tribunal—meaning their pay remains the same throughout the year regardless of when they take time off. Cant even get that right!🤦‍♀🤦🏻‍♂️

@MarkoMatvikov Can't disagree with any of your post, I have moments too where I think "what the hell is she doing". She really needs proper management, good speech-writing and to stick to the issues. Sadly I don't think she told - which greatly disappoints. The LNP aren't up to it either.

I said this at the beginning of the year with genuine respect for Pauline. But 6 months later, I’ve got to be honest - I don’t believe she’s the answer to our problems. Not because of how she’s portrayed by her opponents, but because I think her shortcomings are untenable. Don’t get me wrong, I want this Labor government out - I held some hope they might correct course before the last budget before they doubled down on stupid. And the Liberals need to spend more time in political exile figuring out who they are, resolving their disunity and developing strong policy to suit. So I held some hope that One Nation would be the one to take the fight to Labor at the next election - and maybe I still do. But Pauline’s shown some incredibly bad judgement in both her NPC address and UK visit. She’s said and done things that carry more risk than reward - red meat for the base, but likely to alienate mainstream voters. These consume precious political bandwidth at a time we need a relentless focus on Labor’s failures and alternative policy to restore prosperity. We need somebody who can win against an organised, unified and powerful Labor machine. Somebody who can bring together the majority of Australia with a mandate for real change. So I think a succession plan is the best thing for the party and the country.

The introduction of the word ‘monoculture’ into the national debate was unnecessary - not wrong in my view, but unnecessary. Ranting about paid parental leave without clarifying her policy position can reasonably be interpreted as an intent is to scrap it. Meeting with Tommy Robinson and stating that the White Australia policy is where it started to go wrong without being specific about what she does and doesn’t support can reasonably be interpreted as support for the White Australia policy. And it’s likely we see many more instances over the next couple of years where she says something she doesn’t mean or doesn’t clarify - and it isn’t an unreasonable expectation for a Prime Minister to be clear at all times. To her credit, Pauline has been unequivocally clear on these issues separately to these events - but that doesn’t change the fact that they sow reasonable doubt in mainstream voters. We can’t afford an emboldened Labor and Pauline has an opportunity to demonstrate humility in the interests of the party and the country by stepping aside. I think Pauline can still play a crucial role for One Nation - but they need much more discipline and focus from the top.
