Saying a major opposition party that is already under pressure of a compressed timeline and has fixed its convention for 10 days time and in the middle of state congresses should not go ahead and that if they do so , court will say they didn’t win any election if they win. The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has issued a three-day ultimatum to Iron and Steel companies operating within the Ikorodu Industrial Corridor, particularly in the Odogunyan area of Lagos State, over persistent environmental violations. This action followed an extensive monitoring and enforcement exercise carried out by the Agency, which revealed non-effective air pollution abatement measures, non-installation of effluent treatment plants, failure to construct buffer walls around scrap metal yards, and continued non-compliance with earlier directives issued by LASEPA. The companies are:Top Steel Nigeria Limited,Germini Steel Nigeria Limited, Pulkit Alloy Nigeria Limited, LandCraft Steel Nigeria Limited, African Steel Nigeria Limited, SunFlag Steel Nigeria Limited. They all signed an MOU with LASEPA to comply with all environmental regulations directed by LASEPA within the next 3 days,failure with which sanctions would be applied . The ultimatum is in line with resolutions reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held on December 2, 2025, between the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, and operators of Iron and Steel companies in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu. Briefing the press, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi stated that LASEPA’s real-time environmental monitoring systems recorded high levels of air pollution in the area, including elevated concentrations of particulate matter, oxides of nitrogen, and sulphur compounds, all of which pose serious risks to human health and the environment. He explained that the Agency immediately directed the affected companies to suspend operations capable of causing pollution and commence urgent remedial actions, while granting a limited three-day grace period strictly for the installation of appropriate pollution control technologies and environmental safeguards. Dr. Ajayi noted that failure to comply within the stipulated period would attract strict enforcement actions, including sealing of facilities and the imposition of heavy fines, in line with the polluter-pays principle enshrined in environmental regulations. He emphasized that while LASEPA remains mindful of economic activities and employment generation, the protection of public health and the environment remains paramount, adding that companies must ensure full compliance before resuming production. The General Manager further assured residents of Ikorodu and surrounding communities that the Agency will intensify surveillance across industrial corridors in Lagos State through continuous monitoring using on-site inspections and live air quality monitoring devices, in order to prevent a recurrence of environmental infractions and ensure a cleaner and safer environment for all. I just got off some calls. I’m seeing blogs push the narrative about my Davido album ratings that it’s cos I have issues with him based on that Kai cenat P. If I had an issue with Davido. I would have addressed it since whatever happened. Davido and I talked then and it don pass be that. There are too many tweets of me saying good things bout him event after the so called incident.
