If you tried to explain the rules to someone nowadays out of context they’d probably laugh at you but it ends up being the coolest thing ever for Dune. The limitations make of all the action make it 10x more interesting.

A hugely underrated aspect of the Dune universe's appeal is how Frank Herbert built a world where people zip around the galaxy in spaceships but then fight each other with swords and knives. It makes everything 50 percent cooler than a world of ray guns and robots.

@SamParkerMetal The producers and the studio really didn’t give a shit about this movie. They rushed the script, used cheap animation and finished the movie a year before even announcing it to the public so they just dumped it out into theatres with bare minimum marketing.
