@michalblaha @borekb progress bar tak je na paradu, ale aspon by to mohlo ukazovat, ze to neco dela. Ja takle umrtvip svuj Mac, kdyz po snad 5hod upgradu tam 3h nechal cursor a ja si rekl, ze asi nic nedela a je zaseklej. Po vypnuti uz nenajel 😀 a recovery jde jen pres druhej Mac propojeny kabelem

je videt, ze nejsi zkuseny apple migrator.
Migration assistant evidentne psal byvaly zamestnanec Microsoftu, takze progress bar je tam jen pro paradu a o linearnim posunu se neda mluvit.
PS: pres wifi mi to trva 4-5 hodin, pres Ethernet mene, nejrychlejsi je to ze zalohy (timemachine) z SSD disku pripojeneho na USB-C (hodinu-dve)

Migrace ze starého na nový Mac pomocí Migration Assistantu (což jsem z různých důvodů tentokrát chtěl udělat namísto instalace od nuly) a rychlého USB/thunderbolt kabelu byla 😍 g̶e̶n̶i̶á̶l̶n̶ě̶ ̶h̶l̶a̶d̶k̶á̶ doslova noční můra 😮💨.
Začal jsem cca v 20:30. Asi po hodině koukání na obrazovku, která se nehýbala a vypadala zaseklá, jsem asistenta ukončil, ten se zeptal, jestli má nový Mac vrátit do továrního stavu, to jsem řekl, že ano, a po restartu jsem se dostal na černou recovery obrazovky, která chtěla připojení k wifi, ačkoliv žádnou wifi ikonku nikde neměla, nebo připojení přes ethernet kabel, což jako díky moc.
Pak následovalo asi deset pokusů o softwarové vyřešení – různé restarty, držení různých tlačítek delší dobu, průběžné buzení rodiny hlasitým startup zvukem, který nešel ztlumit, no radost tom byla.
Nakonec jsem u dcerky v pokojíku s čelovkou na hlavě hledal USB ethernet adaptér, který jsem tušil, že tam je někde zašantročený, pak jsem dohledával USB-A → USB-C adaptér a nakonec slavně mohl Mac připojit k síti, protože shodou okolností ještě jeden ethernet kabel vedoucí do routeru v domácnosti máme.
Pak se asi půl hodinu instaloval Tahoe macOS (strašili s několika hodinami, ale bylo to rychlejší) a někdy před půlnocí jsem konečně byl zase zpátky na bodu 0.
Pak jsem Migration Assistanta pustil znovu, tentokrát ho trpělivě nechal spočítat všechny soubory a přenášené věci (trvalo asi půl hodiny), pak šel na samotnou migraci – tam to zase asi 10 minut viselo ve stavu, kdy není vůbec jasné, co se děje, a až potom naskočil progress bar, kde je vidět, jak se soubory přenášejí.
A někdy cca v jednu ráno bylo konečně hotovo 🫠.
Takže trápeníčko bylo, ale přeneslo se všechno pěkně, šlo mi hlavně o Claude Code sessions a různé detaily nastavení, které nemám pokryté dotfiles. Příště ten proces udělám hladší pomocí `npkill`, tipuju, že právě node_modules některé fáze procesu hodně zpomalily, ale kámoš říkal, jak se mu všechno pěkně přemigrovalo asi za 20 minut, tak jsem byl přehnaný optimista 🙂.

Lidi oslavujici, ze Tesla bude vyrabet vlastni chipy, by meli mrknout na to, jak dopadla v jejich podani vyroba baterii (4680).
Pokud jednou Tesla skutecne nejake chipy vyrobi, tak to bude zlomek toho, co vyrabeji skutecni vyrobci jako TSMC a navic budou min. o jednu (spise 2) generace pozadu.
Taiwanci NIKDY nepusti svoje know how pro vyrobu state of the art chipu z geopolitickych duvodu (silicon shield).

This is Tesla’s Battery Day on steroids. And if you’ve been following how that turned out, you should be very skeptical. In September 2020, Musk stood on a stage and promised a revolution in battery manufacturing with the 4680 cell. Tesla was going to ramp to 10 GWh within a year and eventually reach 3 TWh by 2030 — enough for 20 million cars annually. The dry electrode process was going to cut costs by 50%. Five and a half years later, the 4680 program has been a disappointment. Tesla’s own top battery supplier said Elon doesn’t know how to make battery cells. The dry electrode process needed six or seven revisions. It took years longer than promised, and the 3 TWh target is a distant fantasy. Tesla is estimated to be at only about 2% of its original cell manufacturing volume goal. Now Musk wants us to believe he’s going to build a chip fab. Not just any chip fab — the biggest in the world, at 2nm, producing 70% of TSMC’s total output from a single building. Battery cell manufacturing is difficult. Chip fabrication at the leading edge is on another planet of difficulty. TSMC spent $165 billion over years to build six fabs in Arizona, and those won’t reach 2nm production until 2029. A single 2nm fab with 50,000 wafer starts per month costs roughly $28 billion, and it takes about 38 months just to build in the U.S. Tesla has zero semiconductor manufacturing experience. The timing tells the real story. Tesla’s auto business is in freefall — sales declined for the second consecutive year in 2025, with a bloodbath in Europe and its first-ever annual decline in China. SpaceX, by contrast, is about to IPO at a potential $1.5-1.75 trillion valuation. This announcement is clearly designed to attach Tesla, a business in decline, and SpaceX, a business about to go public, to the AI hyperscaler narrative, a boat Musk has already missed with xAI, which he admitted “was not built right” and had to be bailed out by SpaceX. And the cherry on top, or in space, rather, is the plan to put 80% of this compute in orbit. Data centers in space. Powered by solar panels. Launched by Starship. This is the kind of vision that sounds impressive on stage but has essentially zero connection to any near-term business reality, or any possible reality at all, according to most credible experts. The whole thing reeks of desperation. Musk is hyping an 8th-gen AI chip while he still hasn’t delivered on the promises made with the 3rd generation. He’s promising to do in a couple of years what TSMC has spent decades and hundreds of billions of dollars building. AI je skvely, rychly, dela to divy. Nerozumim tomu, proc je potreba to prodavat pribarvenym pribehem, ze si to bracha udelal zatimco si deti cistily zuby.

Ráno čekal, než si děcka vyčistí zuby, a mezitím synkovi napsal aplikaci na vyjmenovaná slova („díky, táto“). Třetí třída, probírají to zrovna ve škole. Na screenshotu vidíte výsledek.
Večer před usnutím si napsal další aplikaci. Tou nahradil placenou službu za pět táců ročně. Už běží v ostrém provozu na jeho eshopu.
Víte, co mě na tom fascinuje? Ani jedna z těch aplikací by dřív nevznikla. Ne že by je nikdo nechtěl. Ale kdo vám nakódí cvičení na vyjmenovaná slova pro jednoho třeťáka? Nikdo. Je to příliš malé, příliš konkrétní, příliš na míru. A ta druhá? Drahá, ale furt příliš levná než aby se vyplatilo kvůli tomu podstoupit ZÁŽITEK komunikace s vývojářem.
A právě proto je vibecoding větší věc, než vypadá. Nejde o ty hříčky. Je to začátek světa, kde cesta od „potřebuju“ k „mám“ trvá míň než čištění zubů.
Což potvrzuje 8 z 10 zubařů.
To mění, přátelé, úplně všechno.
