There are both cyclical and linear elements of history. Right now, we are in a race between cyclical decline and linear takeoff. End of an empire, good times creating weak men etc vs exponential technological acceleration.

prediction markets will replace buying stuff. i want someone to bring kiwis to my house. i make a prediction market about whether someone will deliver 4 kiwis to my doorstep and load $15 into "no". a guy with an ebike sees it and picks up some kiwis. before dropping them off on my doorstep, he bets yes. he drops them off. the market resolves to "yes" and he gets $15. rest in peace, amazon, doordash, ubereats, etc.

an interesting spin on prediction markets is what BRKT ("Bracket") is doing.
they take prediction markets beyond simple yes/no bets.
you can create full competitions:
> brackets
> tournaments
> multi-round predictions
and this all powered by their in-house oracle, INVKR.
INVKR deserves its own article/piece later but essentially this introduces markets that play out, score, and resolve themselves.
