after 3 years, i've decided to leave my post at @base. i feel privileged to have joined (pre-mainnet!) to help shape how base talks to the world, making crypto legible and inviting to people who aren't already deep in it. i’m proud of what we built and how we built it. @jessepollak is the real deal, and so is the entire team around him: @sarahzorah, @WilsonCusack, too many to name. rooting for them always. more soon on what’s next.

I don't know what it is about web3 but it's the only space where people default me to Alex instead of Alexander despite only going by Alexander (unless youre my friend) I dont correct people because who cares but Ive always wondered why this only happens to me in crypto spaces

Personal update: I’m stoked to share that I recently joined @opensea as Staff Engineer. I’ve spent the last 5 years in crypto because digital ownership is inevitable. NFT use cases will continue to expand, and OpenSea is uniquely positioned to help shape what comes next onchain. Time to build.

@dblumenfeld i just dont think any normal consumer is using stablecoins at scale so it hasn't caught on yet - i agree it will but i just mean like TODAY it hasnt

@0xAlexander by consumer crypto do you mean non-financial? cause i'd argue stablecoins has massive consumer use cases, like holding stables to earn yield vs. in a bank account.

The only thing crypto has actually solved is moving money fast, globally, at any size NFTs were powerful because royalties promised a real solution to a problem.. until the royalty standard turned out to be a social contract, not a smart one Consumer crypto won’t come back until it solves a real problem

im the happiest ive been in years despite being without income, having no idea when income will come back, and needing income soon the last 5 years in crypto have been so intense, some time to relax has been invaluable even if it's not the best 'financial decision'
