Google Willow Quantum vs Bitcoin Encryption
Today, Google announced that Willow has reached 105 qubits with improved error rates. Should Bitcoiners worry?
🚫 Short Answer: No.
🔒 Bitcoin relies on two types of encryption:
1️⃣ ECDSA 256: Vulnerable to "Shor’s algorithm," but cracking it would require over 1,000,000 qubits. Willow’s 105 isn’t even close.
2️⃣ SHA-256: Even tougher—requires a different approach (Grover’s algorithm) and millions of physical qubits to pose a real threat.
Bitcoin’s cryptography remains SAFU... for now.

Komputer Quantum
Di thread ini, saya akan membahas tentang komputer quantum. Topik yg seru nih, karena "katanya" komputer quantum akan menghancurkan segala kriptografi yg ada saat ini, benarkah?
Apa itu komputer quantum?
Untuk mengetahui secara garis besar tentang komputer quantum, kita pelajari perbedaannya dengan komputer kita saat ini.
1. Komputer Tradisional
Menggunakan bits untuk merepresentasikan data. Bits adalah satuan data terkecil di komputer kita. Bits berupa bilangan biner. Setiap bit isinya kalo nggak 0 ya 1, tidak bisa 0 dan 1 secara bersamaan.
2. Komputer Quantum
Menggunakan qubits untuk merepresentasikan data. Sama seperti pada komputer tradisional, qubits adalah satuan data terkecil di komputer quantum. Bedanya pada setiap qubit isinya bisa 0 dan 1 secara bersamaan. What?🤯
Kalo bedanya "cuma" bisa 0 dan 1 secara bersamaan lalu apa implikasinya?🤔 Ternyata perbedaannya sangat besar lho... Apalagi untuk mengkalkulasi kemungkinan.
Contoh kasus: menemukan angka 6
Pada komputer tradisional untuk menemukan angka tersebut ya harus dicobain satu per satu. Kurang lebih seperti ini: (3 bits)
000 = 0 -> salah
001 = 1 -> salah
010 = 2 -> salah
...
110 = 6 -> benar
Pada komputer quantum, kalkulasi akan lebih efisien karena qubits bisa merepresentasikan 0 dan 1 secara bersamaan. Jadi mirip seperti di atas tetapi karena pake qubits, butuh lebih sedikit langkah yg dilakukan. Hanya butuh 2-3 langkah pada komputer quantum vs maks 8 langkah pada komputer tradisional. Semakin rumit perhitungan, semakin jauh lebih efisien komputer quantum.
Jangan tanya detail mekanismenya ya, saya juga pusing.😅 Yg penting kita paham bahwa secara garis besar, komputer quantum jauh lebih efisien mengkalkulasi kemungkinan karena pake qubits.
Pertanyaan selanjutnya:
Gimana kalo komputer quantum yg canggih ini digunakan untuk mengkalkulasi kemungkinan password yg kita gunakan? Lalu password digunakan untuk membobol akun bank kita?
Jawaban singkat:
Kalo komputer quantum digunakan oleh hacker, pasti pihak bank juga sudah menggunakan komputer quantum juga untuk mengamankan password kita. Santai, ga akan terjadi kiamat digital kok!🙃
Tapi kan itu bank, sistemnya bisa mereka upgrade. Kalo #Bitcoin gimana? Bukannya mencapai konsensus untuk melakukan perubahan pada sistem Bitcoin sangat sulit? Apakah Bitcoiners perlu cemas?
