@ajtourville @punk6529 Even the wheelchair is an anachronism. With @neuralink and @Tesla_Optimus we can be cyborgs. The future looks rad.

@CroissantEth lol dead giveaway is how fast he talks. Maybe slow it down 0.5x then throw in some of his “bigly” words to really sell it 😂

@zancan I love the x-sorted effect. It’s satisfying, and I could watch it over and over again, each time appreciating something new.

If you spend time with young people you’ll quickly observe that their heads are buried in their phones even while hanging out with their friends IRL.
Future generations already do prefer it and will do so at an interestingly higher rate especially as the interface for doing so gets better.
Imagine what the 5th generation Apple Vision Pro will look like in a decade. To that point I agree that the timeline is still many years out.

@marka_eth People love to complain without offering up solutions. I often tell my team that identifying pain points is great, but what’s even better is to bring proposals how to fix them at the same time.

"i can't believe I have to pay $200 in gas to mint this nft"
"i don't want to use my credit card, i want to use crypto"
"i can't believe i have to click 3 times to bridge eth to ..."
listen, i know UX needs to improve in web3, dramatically
but web2 was/is far from perfect either - you don't own that fortnite skin, they can shut down your fav game at any moment, for every good site/app there's 10 terrible ones, and there are just as many scams
stop complaining about web3 or shitting on eth (or btc)
everyone, no matter your skillset, can help improve web3 - posting criticism on X is not the way 🤡

@beaniemaxi Is it possible to make this work without the ponzi or is that the primary driver for the hype? Could the tech still work with another incentive structure?

It’s easy to argue both sides:
“What utility is there?? We need airdrops or giveaways!”
“Why are they giving away free stuff?? They don’t know what to do with the money!”
Or
“Why don’t they listen to the community?? They just do whatever they want!”
“Why are they asking the community what they want?? They have no leadership!”
In reality, good founders should do a little bit of both and they would be foolish to not do so in order to maintain attention during a bear market while building for the future.
Note I’m not commenting either way on this particular project, just in general how this sentiment need not be binary.

How TF did we give @frankdegods millions of dollars?!
Listening to this dude in spaces rn, and it's so evident he's a Gen-Z bro, and couldn't possibly know how to run a multi-million dollar business.
Frank HAS done some things incredibly well, and they should not be overlooked. His social engineering is second to none. He has ALL of our attention, and is amazing at retaining it. The art is COOL, and there's legitimate brand potential.
ALSO, the @DeGodsNFT community is STRONG! There is no denying that. They show up, and show up for each other, and there are many members using the IP to further the brand. There are a few somewhat beneficial applications for $DUST, but nothing i'm personally thrilled about.
I heard Frank say 2 things that concerned me:
"We're giving away stuff multiple times a day" - I dunno, they're giving away a Tesla or something 🤷♂️ That's in the old attention-getting playbook, and the value is ephemeral. Free stuff is great for the ppl who win, but it is not an effective way to run a business long-term. It shows to me that he's not sure what to do with the money.
"We'll listen to the community and see what they want" - This was the most concerning to me, and shows a lack of direction and leadership. I don't blame him. It's hard to know what to do when you're suddenly entrusted with millions of dollars and expected to build something of value in an extremely unforgiving, challenging, and nascent space. It's good to take community sentiment into consideration, but without laser focus you're going to be in trouble.
Admittedly, I don't own any DeGods assets and haven't spent a ton of time with the project, BUT I do know that if Frank was in front of me, speaking the way he does, and asking me for a $10k investment, there is absolutely no way I'm writing a check.
What happens when he can no longer hold our attention? What product or service is being offered? What problems are being solved?
We can't keep hoping for the loudest voice in the room to make us money. This is a path straight down, and a major contributor to why there's so little liquidity left. If we want the space to grow and thrive, we need to invest in proven founders building solutions and innovative products.
All this isn't to say that DeGods can't continue to be successful, or even that I won't end up owning one some day. But, to me, successfully getting everyone's attention on social media, and successfully running a multi-million dollar business are two very different things. Or is attention truly all that matters?

@marka_eth @crashblossom1 Amazing. Absolutely love that, epic indeed! Thanks for sharing!
English

@0xBuckle yeah, that concept has been done with nft’s a fair bit mate
check out @crashblossom1’s epic GOLD collection: onchain nft that updates based on data from an external node, one of the craziest things i’ve seen done in the space
English

#NewProfilePic concept i had where a dynamic NFT would update based on eth within a wallet i control versus floor price of a punk
in conjunction with a punk-related collection i plan to release
this is my OneDayPunk filling with colour, indicating i am ~30% to my goal (purely an example)
unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way to force metadata refresh to X nft pfp’s - i’ve tried several methods
I guess it could be done with those exy Paid Accounts & an offchain api but that defeats the purpose
“real-time” pfps updating based on certain data would be dope imo
