Swedish police chase of a suspect driving a tuned up motorbike. The suspect was caught and fined but the real story is about the police officer who was charged and found guilty of Police misconduct as he endangered the suspects and others life. He was first freed in the District Court but found guilty in the Appeals Court and Supreme Court found him guilty as the law says a police officer can only chase a suspect on a motorbike if that person is suspect of a serious crime, which driving a tuned up motorbike is not. The police officer was supported by the Police Union, his colleagues and members of the public who later crowdfunded his fines and legal bills.

@arafatkatze @AnthropicAI They use Claude to do their own coding. The output is probabilistic. Dario is a psychopath but at least he understands that they're self-motivated to improve Claude since it's output determines the output of the company itself, like some kind of sick recursion.

I love @AnthropicAI but the constant gaslighting about their model perf is unacceptable. Their entire post mortem of perf degradation is just a cheeky way to avoid responsibility and this cost me thousands of dollars in evals. On April 19, I had guessed that it was a load balancer that they had put in such that there was quantized models behind the scenes but now they are claiming its the param asymmetry of test time compute. Regardless the end result is the same and I was left wonder what was going on behind the scenes. I like to think that "never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence" and I really don't think there's anything malicious here but it would have been nice to say "hey, we messed up, really sorry guys" That's all that had to be done.

@IlyaAbyzov I interviewed at Apple for an IT engineering job in the early 2000s and about half-way through I deliberately tanked the interview. Environment reeked of totally ego-driven management to almost a parody level.

At a recruiting event in 2010, Apple recruiters told me that, at Google, you could send Larry an email on your 1st day and he might respond. But if you sent Steve Jobs an email on your 1st day, you would be fired. Still wondering why that was meant to make me want to work there.
