Looks like a full bailout is on the table.
Lenders that can survive until then will make it out in one piece. Umbrella depositors can breath a sigh of relief. rsETH holders can unclench.
Not sure how I feel about the precedent but I think it's needed - and at least this time, it's the people get bailed out rather than the banks.

Aave service providers have been leading the DeFi United effort to restore rsETH's backing since the April 18 incident. We believe ecosystem collaboration matters most in moments like this, and our priority is achieving the strongest possible available outcome for users. Multiple strong indicative commitments are now in place to join this effort toward restoring the backing of rsETH. This includes @LidoFinance, whose contributors have published a proposal today to their DAO to participate in the joint recovery effort. Lido is one of many partners who are stepping up. We will continue to announce further commitments as they are formalized.

Ethereum’s valuation must decouple because it is increasingly misclassified as part of a homogeneous “crypto asset class.”
In reality, ETH is closer to a hybrid of digital commodity, settlement infrastructure, software innovation layer, and economic bandwidth provider. As institutional understanding matures, capital will differentiate between speculative tokens and foundational infrastructure. When that happens, ETH will be evaluated using frameworks analogous to global infrastructure, financial rails, and even sovereign-grade trust systems, not meme-driven market cycles.
Decoupling is not a speculative hope; it is the logical outcome of proper classification.
Ethereum is not a “better blockchain” within the same category. It is a different category altogether. Its valuation trajectory will ultimately reflect the scale of the economic system it underpins, not the sentiment cycles of the assets it is mistakenly grouped with.
