For any sporting event contract, you're always better trading through MagicMarkets than Poly or Kalshi directly. 100% of the time.

Here is a quick visual on what fees look like between @Kalshi and @RobinhoodApp users (including the new Gold user tier). Kalshi and Robinhood now use the same fee formula (with different values for the named constants). Robinhood is imposing a fee cap to limit things from becoming more expensive than their original fee structure. Trading directly on Kalshi is still the cheapest way to be a taker for all Kalshi markets.

@StanUsmnt Anybody who has played football knows this is a straight red - this view just makes it even clearer. Whether you’re moving forwards or sideways is irrelevant, it’s about the contact on the ankle. Correct decision.

@therick824 @JasonTheHH @erikthesmith Rules in hockey differ between leagues, and you would need typically multiple stick infractions, or checking from behind calls - but yes. Exact same principle. If you kick somebody with a skate that’s considered far more serious than other penalties and you can miss games.

@nursexxl This is called courtsiding and can work if you can pre-empt game events on real time (a tennis lob heading long), but an OTA antenna isn’t going to give you an edge against market makers and delayed taker fills.

Became World Cup insider trader in one day: > connect an OTA antenna at home > go to FOX broadcast to the lowest latency > open Polymarket match page > watch game in live stream with zero lag > goals, red cards, penalties, corner kicks, offside > you see it 10 sec before the market > buy YES before the odds catch up > sell once everyone else sees it The math is you already know the outcome when the odds lagged Why do people still not doing this?

@LeoAdberg Let’s add intent to red cards and offsides. Did they intend to be offside?

TL is full of otherwise intelligent people who can't seem to get that there *has* to be a hard cutoff for offsides. Adding 1ft doesn't make it more flexible, using center of mass doesn't change anything, adding arbitrary wiggle room just makes things worse...

Long Post Warning - with math ⚠️ As I wallow in sorrow about the [temporary] loss of @Novig in my state, I thought it would be interesting to simulate some math in order to show WHY Novig is so important to me, and should be important to you... Last week a very nice gentleman left a comment under one of my posts saying I should change my name from GMG to ASS - (always shilling something.) Clever, but imo encouraging people to use things with clear and obvious value is far from "shilling", even if I am associated with the brand... I digress.. Today on my video, I had 12 official plays. I tracked the odds at the best rec book (FD, DK, HR, etc.) vs the odds at Novig. Although I am not betting $100 on these, I used that as a "standard" unit. I then added the rec profit vs Novig profit should the wager win. On average, Novig is going to pay out $6 more per $100 wager across my 12 picks today... "Okay, whoopdedoo GMG, I wipe with $6 bills." Zoom out. Let's assume every day this month you and I both place the same 12 main lines at $100 each. I take them at recs, you take them at Novig. For easy math, let's say we win 50% each day - over the long run that's pretty realistic... Assuming I lose $6 in value per wager, and we win 6 wagers each day, I am losing out on $36 by not using Novig. If we do this every day for a month, that's over $1,000 (or 10 units...) lost by simply not getting the best price. If you're a $10 bettor - that's $100 a month (still 10u) I get this is convenient, round math. I get that this isn't how things always go - but the value Novig brings to users is undeniable. For main lines, they offer the best price over 90% of the time. And soon they will be live in all 50 states. My content is aimed at recreational bettors. But being a recreational bettor isn't an excuse for bending it over, pulling your jorts down, and letting the books spank your bare buns. Once Novig does go live in all 50 states, it would be great if you used my code (GMGO) when you sign up. But if you think I'm "ASS", you can skip that part. Regardless, I think it's pretty clear having Novig at your disposable is valuable.

@TheSpongeImp @BFNoles @GainzMajor Gotcha. They trialled it in Canada to a mixed reception and inconclusive outcome, but none of the major European leagues are considering trials and many have simply stated that they aren’t and won’t be looking at it.

If they called offside in soccer like they do hockey, where if any part of your body is onside, then you’re onside, instead of the opposite, I think it would make soccer infinitely more watchable and enjoyable.

@TheSpongeImp @BFNoles @GainzMajor I love Arsene, deeply. But this isn’t an idea that’s going to move forward, offsides are to help teams press and hold a high line. Removing them counterintuitively makes the game more defensive. It hasn’t received the support needed to be considered x.com/0xMagicMaker/s…

If you don't have abs like this in your 70's then you aren't allowed to comment on, or change the offside rule. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

@BFNoles It wouldn’t. Teams wouldn’t be able to play an aggressive high line and you would get even more low blocks and direct play.

I defer to you. I’ll assume you’re right. I can’t stress this enough: if that foul was worth playing 11 on 10 for a third of a game and losing your best player for the next game — I just can’t get all that into the sport. That’s beyond ridiculous.
J G@OldTownJG

Non soccer fans not understanding what is and isn't a card is always the most frustrating part of every World Cup cycle. It sucks for Balogun since it was clearly accidental, but it was definitely a red card.

@FfcStone29 @GrantPaulsen Stamping on a foot is painful but not the same category of contact. Straight reds for dangerous tackles are typically forceful, into an ankle or lower shin, especially on a planted leg or from behind. Balogun’s challenge is a stonewall example of this.

@0xMagicMaker @GrantPaulsen If it’s so dangerous why was nothing called on Messi for stamping on someone in the opening game? Last night in the Colombia game it wasn’t called. If it’s that dangerous it should be consistent.

@FfcStone29 @GrantPaulsen This was a dangerous foul and needs to be upheld to protect player safety, which is why it was introduced - after career ending incidents. Two players have had the same sending off for covering their faces while speaking. I would agree more on questioning that.

@0xMagicMaker @GrantPaulsen And his point is still accurate. You may be right it was the correct call. But it’s the kind of call being correct that will turn many people away from the sport. VAR has been a mess all season just looking how Arsenal won the prem. Football does have a problem right now.

Unpopular opinion, but I actually like the hydration breaks. I honestly think football might be better if it was split into quarters rather than halves. The game has changed so much physically now. The speed, intensity, pressing, transitions and distance covered are ridiculous compared to years ago. Knowing there’s a break coming up could actually encourage teams to keep the tempo high instead of managing energy for 45 minutes at a time. It gives players a chance to reset, coaches a chance to make quick adjustments, and fans probably get a better spectacle because the intensity stays higher for longer. I know people will say it breaks up the flow, and I get that, but football already has stoppages, VAR delays, injuries and time-wasting. At least hydration breaks serve a purpose. Maybe quarters are the future. Or maybe I’ve just watched too much American sport.

@j__fort “Results in a better product” is an americanisation and may not even be true. In fact the main fear is that this leads to low block rather than currently possible high line aggressive defending. And the verdict is still out on this.

This is the simplest solution to the ridiculous offside rule that annoys so many new fans. Yes, there’d still be the same number of edge cases, but it would be in the offense’s favor and result in a better product. Similar energy as “tie goes to the runner” rule.
Joe Schad@schadjoe

What offside would be and not be if Arsène Wenger, FIFA's chief of global football development, gets his way. The change effectively means there has to be daylight between attacker and defender for an offside offense. Otherwise, all those goals count.
