in the span of about two hours: > a nuclear bomb of malware hits the Internet > Google officially warns that crypto is fucked if it doesn’t get post quantum immediately AI has accelerated every timeline. Including the very, very bad ones.
Feross@feross

🚨 CRITICAL: Active supply chain attack on axios -- one of npm's most depended-on packages. The latest axios@1.14.1 now pulls in plain-crypto-js@4.2.1, a package that did not exist before today. This is a live compromise. This is textbook supply chain installer malware. axios has 100M+ weekly downloads. Every npm install pulling the latest version is potentially compromised right now. Socket AI analysis confirms this is malware. plain-crypto-js is an obfuscated dropper/loader that: • Deobfuscates embedded payloads and operational strings at runtime • Dynamically loads fs, os, and execSync to evade static analysis • Executes decoded shell commands • Stages and copies payload files into OS temp and Windows ProgramData directories • Deletes and renames artifacts post-execution to destroy forensic evidence If you use axios, pin your version immediately and audit your lockfiles. Do not upgrade.

Yesterday the United States government banned all non-US produced computer networking equipment from the United States over security concerns. Network stuff currently in use can stay, however moving forward they must be produced in the United States or be given special approval ... or stop selling in the United States.

Two full iOS exploit kits in one month, deployed via watering holes on public websites, potentially affecting hundreds of millions of devices. Will Apple acknowledge that this no longer fits the "very small number of highly targeted individuals" narrative?

Why does every guide on how to calculate cvss score read like instructions for an overly complex board games scoring system. To get your exploitability score roll 3 dice and find the integral of the result. Now take your result and multiply it by your scope score.

this guy vibe coded an AI SURVIVAL APP that works COMPLETELY OFFLINE the app > gives you survival advice completely offline > cites exact pages from manuals stored on the device > has offline maps so you're never lost > lets you text people up to 50 miles away with no cell service it started off as an app but now he's selling physical devices it's waterproof, under 3 pounds, and strong enough that you can run it over with a car the app hit 14k users and became the world's #1 rated survival AI which is insane
