Every perp DEX has a matching engine. The real question is whether that matching engine should actually change Imagine two traders dropping the exact same buy order. Trader A submits at 10:00:00.001 Trader B submits just 2 milliseconds later. On a classic FIFO order book, Trader A gets priority purely because they were first. A few milliseconds decides who sits at the front of the line. Superluminal moves away from that one-by-one model. Instead of matching orders one by one as they come in, it uses Dual Flow Batch Auctions (DFBA). Orders that arrive in the same short auction window get grouped together and cleared as a batch not purely on who arrived first. The goal isn’t to reward who clicks fastest. It’s to reduce the insane advantage of raw speed, protect against toxic flow and put greater emphasis on fair pricing and execution quality. No more paying for the best connection just to win the race. It’s a completely different way of thinking about market structure and one of the main reasons I’m genuinely excited to see @slx_fi in action.
