투명성을 위해: A41은 Mantle LSP(mETH)와 EigenDA의 오퍼레이터로 참여하고 있음을 밝힙니다. 모든 의견은 개인적인 견해이며 재정적 조언이 아닙니다.

9/ 개인적 의견: L2는 사용자 확보와 (비용을 고려한)보안 개선이라는 두 가지 과제를 동시에 해결해야 하는 어려운 위치에 있다. 높은 보안은 필연적으로 높은 비용을 야기하므로, 현실적으로 보안성은 생태계의 규모에 따라 점진적으로 개선되는 접근법이 합리적이라 생각한다.

7/ 앞으로의 과제: OP Succinct는 아직 멘틀 Testnet까지만 적용된 상태이다. 메인넷에 온전히 배포되어 문제없이 동작하는것을 보기까지는 조금 시간이 필요할것으로 보인다. 또한 L2beat를 인용하자면 Proposer가 단일 실패지점으로 존재하는점 또한 앞으로 해결해야할 과제로 보인다.

6/ 도전적인 채택: 얼리어답터인 Phala는 비용 제약으로 인해 메인넷에서 12시간 주기로 commit 하지만, Mantle은 현재(테스트넷 기준으로) 2시간 주기로 commit 하며 더 빠른 완결성을 목표로 하고있다. 메인넷에서도 이 속도를 유지하는것이 챌린지가 될것이다.

5/ Finality와 OP Succinct: OP Stack은 fraud proof로 완결성을 보장하기에 거래가 완결(finalize)되기까지 7일이 걸린다. OP Succinct는 zk 증명을 통해 거래의 완결시간을 1~2시간 정도로 짧게 만들어준다. 짧은 완결시간은 곧 짧은 출금 대기시간으로 이어진다.

4/ Mantle의 선택은 EigenDA: Mantle은 높은 수수료에도 불구하고 EigenDA를 선택했고 보안성에 노력을 기울이고 있다는 인상을 주었다. 한편, 곧 진행될 EigenDA의 v2 업그레이드는 수수료를 Celestia 수준으로 낮추는 것이 목표이기에, Mantle이 이를 선제적으로 고려하여 선택했을 가능성도 있다.

3/ 비용과 보안 Align 문제: 현 시점 Celestia는 EigenDA보다 수수료가 저렴하다. 이 때문에 초기 단계의 L2는 Celestia를 선호할 수밖에 없다. 다만 Celestia는 $TIA 와 별도의 상태로 보안을 형성하는 반면, EigenDA는 $ETH 와 L1의 컨트랙트로 이루어져 이더리움과 보안모델을 일부 공유한다.

Mantle과 EigenDA, 그리고 OP Succinct. @Mantle_Official은 Validium & Optimium 중에선 가장 TVL이 높은 L2이다. 최근 Mantle이 @eigen_da와 OP Succinct(@SuccinctLabs)를 채택한 결정은 어떤 의미를 지닐까? 궁금증이 생겨 간단히 살펴보았다.
