remember that Chrome extension everyone used during COVID to sync their Netflix with friends? yeah, me and @TheDonAyo built that. freshman year @ CMU i cold-emailed the CEO of Netflix Party and asked to join the team. He said yes and I became the first engineering hire. I convinced him to hire my long-time friend Ayo, we rebranded to Teleparty, added support for 25+ major streaming services, and scaled the product to over 20 million users throughout COVID. for a while, we were the entire extension team; building systems that scaled to millions, optimizing onboarding and conversion funnels, and getting on countless calls with users. We learned how to ship fast, debug under pressure, and grow a product people genuinely loved. I spent over 4 years at Teleparty, balancing full-time engineering with part-time classes during my last two years at CMU. the team was remote and fairly small but we had a bunch of fun retreats in LA and spent two summers living in SF working on Teleparty and other projects. It was a blast. In January, Ayo and I left to start something new: @a0_dev. But Teleparty is still alive and kicking ❤️
