Dear @shakepay @aiouy can we please have autobuys using a percentage of our direct deposits. Currently doing a dollar amount. Would love to convert 10% every week into bitcoin. Is this an option available in the app?

Freeze 1.7M P2PK coins. Return ~1.7M coins in event of Coinbase custody hack. Would you support one, and not the other? They are walking the same centrally planned line.

@Dr_DAO_ The only dominant voice are the ones willing to pay for blockspace, aka pay transaction fees. Doesn't appear to me that institution aligned actors even use the base chain..

I think it's incredibly important the Bitcoin community acknowledges the game-theoretic incentives when it comes to a fork. This isn't 2017, and "the community" is not the dominant voice it once was.

@BTCBreadMan even if it forks I have to imagine, economically, miners support the chain with the most base layer txes.. Reckon that's not the institutions

I don’t think you guys understand. We MUST freeze the old coins and censor the uncensorable money. If we do not do so, then the uncensorable money may be at risk.

Economically speaking - which fork prevails The institutions who that don't use the base layer or The non-freeze original chain who is compromised of user's making frequent transactions... My intuition points to miners supporting the chain with the most fee activity 🤷‍♂️

The system is attempting to coerce Bitcoin, using narrative to undermine the protocol. That is all this QC conversation is. The machine trying to get Bitcoin to bend to it's will after 16 years of failure. The network will adapt to "lost" coins becoming a QC bounty. nofreeze

@HodlMagoo Yeah if we "willingly" touch other coins then the community has lot the plot.

Thoughts on BIP-361: * I know folks don't like it. I don't like it myself. I wrote it because I like the alternative even less. * It isn't a spec, nor is it proposed for activation. It's a rough idea for a contingency plan that needs more R&D. * I hope it never needs to be considered for adoption. * Ultimately, my thesis is that in the face of existential threat, individual economic incentives outweigh philosophical principles.

Unpopular opinion: This is going to happen and most holders silently want this to happen. Assuming it’s done with a fair grace period, it seems right. People talking about the ‘original ethos’ are talking out of their sidelined arses or virtue signaling.
Bitcoin Archive@BitcoinArchive

Cypherpunk Jameson Lopp and other Bitcoin developers propose BIP-361 to freeze quantum vulnerable wallets. This could lock dormant BTC like Satoshi Nakamoto’s 1.1M coins, now worth $74B, before quantum computers can steal them.

@BowTiedBull haha still day dreaming about ETH being the monetary apex predator? Nothing that concentrates consensus around supply will be a global reserve currency. But keep missing the forest for the trees.

Bitcoin was built for exactly this moment. Financial chaos, institutional distrust, a broken system looking for an exit. That was the whole point. Instead it got co-opted by Saylor, the Trump family, and every other grifter who saw a flag to plant. Now it's carrying too many identities to stand for any one thing.
