just out of curiosity, I downloaded the code from github.com/kadena-io/chai… and asked the AI what it thinks about this statement - It doesn't have 20 chains, it has 1 split into 20 segregated islands Its answer: No, your claim is not supported by the source code. Chainweb architecture uses 20 separate independent chains, not 1 chain split into 20 islands. Here's the evidence: 1. ChainGraph structure (Graph.hs) • ChainGraph is a directed, regular, symmetric graph where each vertex represents a separate chain (ChainId) • The Twenty graph explicitly has 20 vertices (order 20), degree 3, diameter 3 Independent chains (Cut.hs) • The Cut data structure is a HashMap ChainId BlockHeader, where each ChainId has its own BlockHeader • Each chain has its own block height: _cutMinHeight, _cutMaxHeight • Chains can progress asynchronously at different heights Chain relationships (Graph.hs) • The adjacentChainIds function returns adjacent chains for a given chain • This is a graph topology, not partitioning of a single chain • Chains communicate via merkle proofs (SPV) Transition handling (Version/Utils.hs) • The chainCountAt function returns the number of chains at a given block height • During graph transitions, new chains are created or removed Summary: Chainweb uses 20 parallel, independent blockchains connected according to a graph topology. In their end of year AMA, the #Kadena team talked about a number of potentially interesting developments to be released in 2025. One of these is the addition of 20 Chainweb EVM chains. This brings EVM and Solidity compatibility to Kadena’s scalable architecture. Now you might think, oh great another #L2 player, but you’d be wrong. This is all running on an #L1 blockchain… just with multiple application language support. This is so much better than a bridge and opens up a whole new world of opportunity. Like… why stop with EVM? There are plenty of other options out there and I’d love to see Kadena push things on this front. The @kadena_io team have said they’ll be showcasing DevNet for the above at #ETHDenver in Feb.
