Many of crypto's most valuable companies will be "boring" but use blockchains to bank the unbanked and democratize capital/investment/savings access

Every crypto VC should read this thread and realize that real PMF sits far outside their domain of expertise and backing Emerging Market teams is probably going to lead to boring billion dollars because they’re actually solving real problems… but what do I know.

@TheCryptoNexus These larger entities can’t necessarily trade on / use hl (compliance reasons, especially in US), which would be part of dilligence on hl price discovery
Same reason why cash flowing protocols with meaningful buybacks trade at discounted multiples - opacity discount

Over the weekend on HL we saw *some* spread from the last traded price of tradfi oil futures, but then mostly just chopped in quite a tight range until trad opened back up. IMO this is due to lack of confidence in HL as a trustworthy venue for commodity pricing.
I suspect as HIP-3 matures as a product and grows in volume that we will see increasing confidence in it’s ability to act as the price discovery venue during weekends.
And with that will come even more volume.

pretty impressive how oil basically just gaps to where HL has been trading on open now

Thrilled to share that I’m joining @hiFramework.
After many years trading volatility, I'm excited to take a longer term view on markets and people. Feel free to get in touch.

Do they? I understand allocating capex to an entirely new product launch (this is the future of maturing projects building sustainable revenue growth in crypto)
But I would argue that onchain protocols require less capex generally due to the efficiency of smart contracts
Hyperliquid of course has given credence to this as you mentioned

I’m excited to announce that I’ve been promoted into a new role at @blockworks - Head of Content!
There is a lot of major changes at Blockworks right now and I’m a believer in the vision that @JasonYanowitz and @MikeIppolito_ have.
There are many lessons learned around what content should look like for us and I’m excited to lead the charge on what I believe that should look like!
Oh, and I will still be doing the @ForwardGuidance podcast and the roundup with @qthomp and @Tyler_Neville_ , don’t fret :)
Onwards.
