Ever since hosting the Forum & AMAs at Sushi, many have asked if I continued podcasting or hosting shows. Today, that changes as I finally reveal the long-overdue podcast! The Tangle Collective will start by featuring shows with prominent figures from the digital asset and blockchain community. Over time, it will expand to include educational content, clips, and written materials. Over the years, I have gained extensive knowledge about this ecosystem and participated in many inspiring conversations. Few of these have been recorded. As a result, I aim to track ideas and insights and turn them into deep, meaningful content. Join me on this journey as we explore a variety of topics from a diverse group in this industry. Let’s get tangled!

PRIME TRUST’S ESTATE IS SUING STRIKE The lawsuit alleges Strike saw the collapse coming early, rapidly moved customer assets off Prime, and received preferential treatment before bankruptcy. According to the complaint, Strike withdrew nearly $29.5M and 1,939 BTC during Prime’s final weeks, including a 1,350 BTC transfer on June 2, 2023. Prime’s estate claims Strike insiders knew about mounting regulatory pressure, insolvency risks, and operational problems before the public did. The filing cites Strike’s own claim submission, where the company admitted it took steps “to protect its own and its customers’ interests” by moving funds to external accounts away from Prime. The estate is now attempting to claw back at least $13.9M and 1,758 BTC in alleged preferential transfers.

VLAD HOSTS THE BEST PODCAST IN BITCOIN
I have a theory that Bitcoin maximalism didn’t become so much softer over the last 2 years only because of Twitter algorithm changes that make community members who “shitcoin” less visible It’s also the multiple Ls that got folks humbled by the market. Bad predictions, lots of unfulfilled expectations, losing the payments network effect to USDT on Tron, Lightning failing to meet expectations, Liquid staying a ghost town, Ethereum not failing as expected, privacy becoming a much hotter narrative than digital gold, miners pivoting to AI, leaders selling out to bankers, I can go on all day 🥹 Every time someone argues that Bitcoin maximalism is a winning ideology and maxis were right, lots of truth bending is involved and blind spots are required.

Bitcoin doesn't need to scale for the whole world, and trying to do so comes with trade-offs. You lose the exclusivity that humans naturally crave, the thing that makes it feel special. It turns a premium asset for financial freedom into something ordinary. I'm not against intermediaries. I use Liquid and Ark myself for small spends, so the other side doesn't see my actual UTXO. But scaling for everybody? Lol! The real value is in its hardness. You can't print more of it. It's a push system, not a pull system. Most people are comfortable with pull, but once you get a taste of true push, there's no going back. All this talk about making Bitcoin easier to use so people adopt it .. whose problem is that? The people who thought it was too hard in 2011 and finally bought in 2020 didn't hurt me. People learn when they need/want to learn.

How is there zero demand? Even Ignoring all these hacks, every cold storage user wants vault-like security. People already jump through absurd hoops to protect their bitcoin, and many leave it with custodians entirely because they don't trust themselves enough to self-custody safely. If you can 1000x the security of self-custody, the demand is obviously there. Love utxoracle but man half the shit you write could come from simple jack instead of steve

Didn’t realize @ben_mckenzie was still this deep in anti-crypto mode. At this point he sounds less like a concerned actor and more like Lizzy Warren’s long lost apprentice lol. The part that gets me is how his outrage is never aimed at central banks printing trillions, endless debasement, major banks laundering cash, or the legacy financial system getting bailed out over and over again. It’s always aimed at open networks, self custody, and people trying to opt out. Makes you wonder what the real motive is. Protection? Or protection of the banks. Funny how the loudest “protectoooor” voices always end up defending the institutions that wrecked the economy in the first place. You ain’t on the right side of history bud. x.com/RedWavePress/s…

Prediction markets are the ultimate evolution of the terminally online, and the ego-driven capital allocators. (two primary demographics of crypto) The one thing holding these two cohorts back from coming together to rekindle the degen MMOG spirit, is the lack of markets that interest them both. Right now you can trade tens of thousands of event contracts on Polymarket, but very few of them captivate that MMOG crypto audience. Crypto ppl don’t wanna bet on politics and boring shit like the next fed chair. They wanna spin a Kyle Salami and HLJeff argument from the timeline into a prop bet for bragging rights. They wanna debate esoteric niche structural MEV topics with wintermute and bet on who will be right. They wanna bet on whether [insert over hyped thing] is pure unadulterated yet-to-be revealed crime or not. They wanna bet on whether the “buy backs” are real (they’re not, they never are). They wanna bet on which CeFi company is next to rug. They wanna bet on how quickly the metrics for CZ’s newest copycat BNB project deflate after the token drops. They wanna debate how many strands of hair gainzy will have left by 2027. Polymarket doesn’t care about these things. It’s a mainstream app. But prediction markets are the perfect substrate for crypto MMO games. And they don’t need greater fools to work. As long as ppl have egos and drama persists, you can spin any debate into a prediction market. Oh and you can have fun while your at it putting your money where your mouth is :)
Grug 🪨@grugcapital

I post much less about crypto now because it’s just not fun, on one side you have hype beasts who couldn’t tell you what a bonding curve is if you held a gun to their head and on the other you have ex Morgan Stanley employees in suits at stable coin companies.
