For nfts to succeed we need a major rebranding, everyone (normies) hates nfts now. It’s gonna be very hard to get back to where we were few months ago. This bear will help us mature a lot. But we need to not fuck it up next time.
NOSTALGIA
have not done this in AGES and I love scrolling these
post an image (photo, art, anything) that triggers nostalgia for you. does not need to be an NFT
either reply or QT is fine as you prefer
@jonahblake If everyone had PFPs, wont that also mean the value decreases cause it is no longer exclusive. Put another way, is mass adoption of PFPs inversely correlated to value?
Hot take: the normal world does not care about PFPs and I currently don’t think they ever will. Why do games have “create you own character options?” Because people want their own identity. They don’t want to collectively assimilate. Customized avatars work. It’s why Reddit ✅
A lot of projects tout community, but get distracted trying to do x, y or z and the community ends up degrading over time
I think by focusing on community first, you can set a foundation to thrive at x, y, z and more further down the line
That’s what I’m betting on at least 🫡
@kimmy_eth As much as I believe in the ownership for creators. I just don't see new creators building an audience without web 2 yet. So coexist, imo ✌️
You cannot deny the immersive power of VR.
I still remember my stomach feeling like it was in my chest when doing a roller coaster simulator on a tilt synced chair.
@JoshBobrowsky Given brands usually take time to become household names, do you think the same will apply to nft brands? Or does layering on financialization quicken brand building.
I have no clue what ETH price will be in 10 years.
BUT, am extremely confident it’s going to be core infrastructure for every sector on this planet from Medicine to education to gaming to…
future of work in an age of information abundance should include a weekday where we don't actually work, but focus on closing tabs, reading emails, doing homework from online courses, reading saved articles, etc
this shouldnt be saturdays. maybe a wednesday once every two weeks?
@0xlght Super interesting insights! To your mr beast example, will it make sense to team up with these big web 2 content creators? Cause these folks seem to have the eyeballs/attention
currently the most obvious path is for
'degens' that want to do more than middle man shitcoins to build new job titles for themselves + pair up with indie artists
managers, recruiters, vid editors, developers, designers, copywriters, etc
My Reddit take is that if you really ask yourselves how many people are collectors of something, its near 100%.
The more attention paid to collecting, the more collecting that ensues. It could be at any price point.
The future of finance isn’t fintech. It’s the financialization of culture.
There’s tradeoffs (of course), but it’s a better deal for creators and will onboard billions of users.
