"Edinburgh’s newest cycle lane was a decade in the making. And if it can happen in this hilly, windswept northern city, well, it can happen pretty much anywhere." bloomberg.com/news/articles/… via @citylab
Same bullshit on the away kit as well…
Sort it out @Nike@fa@England
You disrespectful, woke sympathisers. Grow a back bone and restore the St George’s Cross to the National jersey. 🏴
@SW20Ed@rsmcksg These look great but I bet the finish between the paving and tarmac will be crap and it’ll need repair with 4 weeks of completion because folk can’t do their job right or the budget doesn’t allow a proper fix. That said, I’m all for it.
These independent figures from the Improvement Service demonstrate that the work we’re carrying out is having a real impact - it looks like we may have halted the decline in road condition in Edinburgh.
In fact, we’re on track to improve more square metres of roads and pavements than in any other financial year in 2023/24. As a result the rating of the condition of our entire road network, the Road Condition Index (RCI), has also continued to improve year on year.
Indeed, the data indicates that improvements in Edinburgh have exceeded those in 29 of Scotland's 32 local authorities.
That’s in part thanks to an additional £11m of capital investment committed in last year’s budget and this year we’ve gone even further to pledge £12.5m to tackling poor road and pavement surfaces, which will help us to deliver a safe, usable network.
Of course, concerns around the condition of our roads and pavements remain and are justified, and while statistics like these are a good marker, it’s people’s perceptions of our road and pavement network that matter the most.
Like any other city we continue to work to a tight budget, in the face of increasing labour and material costs. However, this ongoing investment, along with prudent planning and delivery of schemes, is helping the situation to improve.
This data shows that for A-roads we have moved from 24th (out of 32) in the national league table to 21st... so there is much more to do!
(The figure is for A-roads.)
@rsmcksg Who’s going to maintain the planting areas? If it’s the council they’ll just become rubbish dumps. Also what’s the chance of the green areas being rain gardens to help with localised flooding issues?
A small selection of the great people we have in The House of Lords.
Evgeny Lebedev, KGB, Charlotte Owen, Johnson's daughter, Michelle Mone, PPE scammer and Johnson's drinking buddy.
Like if you want them kicking out.
RT if you want the House of Lords gone.

Thanks to his goal v Wolves tonight, Scott McTominay is Manchester United’s leading Premier League goalscorer this season with six goals!
His fine form this season continues! 👏🏻
Our crews work round the clock to clean 1,500km of streets across the city. It's hard work but they're out there come rain or shine. Here's some before and after pics from recent clean ups in Craigmillar and Gilmerton.
@Refill any chance you could get the #sipplehydration machine at @KingsXStation fixed? None of the businesses there will fill bottles as they keep sending people to the non working water machine.
@RoyalMailHelp Hi. Could you please ask the Edinburgh Dell delivery office to stop parking in the residents parking area at Moat House, Edinburgh. They have plenty spaces in the depot car park.
