@mathsjem @MathsladyScott Thanks Jo, option block experiment particularly interesting! We are offering L2 FM this year, but I struggled to find many past papers / end of year /multiple topic tests - I couldn’t see that many on AQA allaboutmaths -… where are you sourcing yours?

@123lots No tutor group but daily lunch duty. I teach 41 out of 60 per fortnight + 5 mtgs/on call - most teachers on my team teach 50, so I basically get an extra 2 frees a week for HoD stuff. More than some HoDs. My workload is insane & I don't know how people do it on less time!

@HawesMaths @giftedHKO … compare the lists - choose higher prime powers for LCM, lower prime powers for HCF. Nice lead in to HCF(m,n)x LCM (m,n)= mn there too. Oh, and never ever Venn diagrams 😁

@HawesMaths @giftedHKO See I like the ladder, but it falls apart when you find HCF/LCM of three numbers, or of large numbers (eg LCM of 2^11 x 3^23 x 7^2 and 2^8 x 3^20 x 11, becoming popular at GCSE) I say use ladder, but if there are three values or large numbers, write products of primes and go…

Did you know you can change a fraction/surd to decimals on the new Casio WITHOUT using Format?!

@MrJ_Maths @TheMathsBazaar I agree it’s nicer and less effort to do it your way. But the fact it will change the answer if Ans is involved leads me to think it’s just too risky to show most students. Easy to forget the problem! Why oh why did they remove the S-D button 😭

@TheMathsBazaar @123lots Because often students want to be able to get an answer as a decimal and having to press 4 buttons to do it can be somewhat cumbersome

@mrallanmaths What sort of laptop and pen are you using? Keen to go paper free but not sure of the feasibility. Using a Surface laptop I’ve found that your hand contacting the screen can disturb it…

@mrallanmaths Yes, it can feel like a Pythagoras discovery lesson where they measure to verify and say “aha, but I didn’t get 5cm, I got 5.2cm” and you just 🤦

@mrallanmaths Nice one! I like that the kids think they’re controlling the game - yours is more exciting to me than 1089, which seems to get a lot of traction on here sometimes
