FUN FACT: all man-made carbon dioxide emissions in the entire history of the human race across 100,000 years add up to less CO2 than Mother Nature emits every 4 years. Go figure.

Will the Green Party explain how mankind’s minuscule net contribution to atmospheric CO2 (less than 1 atom per million per decade) can dramatically change climate? Of course not. Because it’s total baloney

@126_alan @catharfury @NeilDotObrien CS are some of the laziest workers about, likely plenty of areas where the job of 2/3 competent people is currently split between 5/6 half arsed types.

Can’t really blame the majority of British sports fans wanting to replace ‘God Save The King’ as a national anthem (according to The Athletic). It is a miserably trite and banal piece of music, with meandering one step scalic movement and few intervals - a dirge. Time to off it.

In the steeplechase the other night, an English athlete started to make a late comeback and the stadium announcer excitedly said "when you're racing on home soil anything can happen!" If you have a Team Scotland, why let announcers treat it as a fiction or a technicality?

@JRB_O_Liverpool @catharfury @NeilDotObrien Shouldn't we have some sort of study to show whether job cuts are viable? People on here just decide job cuts are fine then think of a number. I'm sure they wouldn't be happy if their Pension claim was delayed due to lack of staff.

@catharfury @NeilDotObrien There is a lack of talent and high calibre people in the CS, it’s why we cannot justify higher salaries. We need to cut at least 50-100k jobs, with a focus on keeping higher performers with increased pay and attracting genuine talent with higher base salaries

Why does it always seem to be the 5% of women on the dinghies who tragically lose their lives in the Channel, not the 95% of men?

@MilenaAmit Just a thought. I'm 64 and my best friend is a 30 year old woman. It isn't a sexual or romantic relationship and I don't want it to be. I'm not sure why I would neceesarily have more "in common" with a 60+ year old than with her. Please enlighten me.

@RJSHutton As I understand it, the DWP lavishes money on those who don't need it but is extremely stingy to those who do. That's what the press and social media tell me.

Can confirm. I simply waked into a Job Centre and said 'scuse me mate, I am having some ADHD'. They immediately gave me a cheque for £10 million, a free palace, and carriage made out of a pumpkin drawn by two unicorns. x.com/KingBobIIV/sta…

@SandyofSuffolk @TalkTV I am a taxi driver, and, for the bants, I decided to apply and see if I was entitled to PIP and free transport to work - based on my medical history, I am indeed entitled to free transport to and from work...as a taxi driver. The entire system is a joke.

I'm still fascinated by the fact that the same people who say "the climate has always changed, therefore humans have nothing to do with it", claim the exact opposite when there's a wildfire - must be arson. If you believe humans can cause wildfires why can't they alter climate?

@ECOuteSvp It's dry in summer so naturally fires spread easily, that doesn't take away the fact that if nobody started the fire in the first place we would not have forest fires, it has nothing to do with climate change.

Europe doesn't have a climate change problem. It has an arson problem. Every summer we're told the fires are proof of climate change, yet time and again people are arrested for deliberately starting wildfires. The real question is: who benefits from turning every wildfire into a climate narrative before the cause is even established?
Ed Miliband@Ed_Miliband

The wildfires in Europe remind us that the climate crisis is happening now. It knows no borders and impacts us all. The UK, France and Spain are committed to the Paris Agreement. We will continue working together to build resilience and tackle climate change.

@BenGrahamUK Gary Player once said "the more I practice, the luckier I get". It seems the hotter it gets, the more arson we get.

It amazes me that some people are jealous of disabled people getting PIP... and yes i said 'jealous'. What kind of country do we live in where disabled people are demonised, vilified, made to feel guilty, like a common criminal for something that is beyond their control.
