@ccchristtt I think you have a good point, but I think what's more likely is what we're already seeing, which is a revival via subversion and irony (like in your OP), eventually it may return to sincerity.
Things don't get worse btw, the world just suits us less as we get older.

in a time of alot of change in opposite directions, these will become a charished memory to a subsect of a generation, i can see the kids growing up now seeing these when they're older gravitating to it's 'positive' outlook on the world where everyone is getting along wishing to go back when things were 'better' this does assume that things will be getting worse.

@nitzukai There's a reason why the best remaining examples of these are all interior installations. They're more susceptible to weather damage, less energy efficient, and are harder to replace.
