@KevG163 This is just outstanding! Amazing how hard they were playing, and the pass from Muncie to Hill was perfect! And all on turf that appears to be as forgiving as a rest area parking lot. Also, I did watch this game and rooted hard for the NFC (because @Lions are in it). I was 9.

I had originally planned on reading this during baseball season, but devouring it during -20 degree windchill temperatures this week helped me to reflect on what my friend Jim once told me about why the game is uniquely great: “anything can happen on any pitch.”

@IffyTheDopester I have the same one. Bought it at a store in the Fisher Building in the mid-90’s. I took it to Tigerfest and Moehler, Higginson, Clark, Thompson, and others who I thought would be the nucleus of a winning tradition.

@KevG163 This was the first SB that I really understood (I was 10). I even audio recorded it from the tv broadcast on a cassette. My beloved @Lions were 2-14 that year, which set them up for drafting @RealBillySims #1, and he would debut powerfully against the @RamsNFL in 1980 opener.

@DannyDrinksWine Saving Private Ryan. Could not relax after thae opening 30 minute beach sequence. There were some WWII vets in the theatre. They got a standing ovation after movie. Before movie, management warned people that this was an intense film, and offered refunds. Never saw that before.

@landofthe80s I preferred the Coleco game of the same era, although mine was a Sears knockoff brand. Learned the time tables of 7 quite effectively after playing it for a few days.
