@161_161_ @ConstantinLeFev @mdedetrich @GermanyDiplo @SecRubio You are fact-resistant. The National Socialist German Workers' Party was socialist's. The fact that it was totalitarian and banned other organizations does not make it any less socialistic. Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao were also totalitarian, it comes with the territory.

Germany just gave its spy agency new powers to surveil the opposition. That’s not democracy—it’s tyranny in disguise. What is truly extremist is not the popular AfD—which took second in the recent election—but rather the establishment’s deadly open border immigration policies that the AfD opposes. Germany should reverse course.

@ConstantinLeFev @mdedetrich @GermanyDiplo @SecRubio Your thinking of right and left wing is way too easy. An economy based on private ownership and forced labor is the opposite of socialism. Socialism empowers workers; Hitler’s regime suppressed them and served capital and war.

The discussion is getting semantic. The collectivisation of means of production would, in my vocabulary, fit under Marxism /communism, but I know Marx himself called it 'socialism'. As for H.'s so-called cooperation with corporations : H. did not put in place policies to enrich company shareholders. The companies were simply enrolled to collaborate in the war effort. As for abolishment of trade unions. That is indeed true. But, he replaced it with a state-controlled (= left wing) apparatus to set employment conditions. You will read everywhere on the internet that it impoverished the working class and caused inflation. But it is not true. The conditions of the working class in the 1918 - 1933 period were far worse than in 1933 - 1938. That period was called the German economic miracle at the time. That is also why H. was so incredibly popular with the working class at the time.

@ConstantinLeFev @mdedetrich @GermanyDiplo @SecRubio Major corporations like Krupp, IG Farben, and Siemens profited enormously under Hitler. While the economy was directed by the state, private ownership remained intact. Corporations profited aswell because of forced labor. Not very socialist.

@ConstantinLeFev @mdedetrich @GermanyDiplo @SecRubio Hitler cooperated closely with large corporations (e.g., IG Farben, Krupp), trade unions were dismantled, and workers' councils were banned. There was no intention to abolish private ownership of the means of production which is a core principle of socialism.

Well, thank you for acknowledging that H. had left wing policies and that he persecuted communists. That's what I said. Now, if you had answered that his policies were actually nationalistic and that there are overlaps between nationalistic and socialistic policies, I would have said : " Ok, fair enough." But, stating that it was right wing crony capitalism (such as f.e. Reaganomics) is blatantly incorrect.

@ConstantinLeFev @GermanyDiplo @SecRubio Thats utter bullshit. Hitlers social measures served purposes like war preparation and social control, not redistribution or workers' empowerment. Private businesses remained central, and trade unions were crushed. That contradicts socialist principles

@161_161_ @GermanyDiplo @SecRubio I did... a lot. If you look at Hitler's social and economic program (public works, paid holidays for workers, social benefits, etc.) it's 100% socialist. It was a mix of socialism and nationalism, whereas communism is a mix of (extreme) socialism and internationalism.

Concerning your history: if you are referring to a certain party that came to power in 1933, it was leftwing (that's why it had an 'S' in its name) and the fun fact is that they did exactly the same as you are doing now, albeit with the communists, which they censored and prosecuted. So, you are not learning from history, you are repeating it !
