DU में एक कॉलेज है सेंट स्टीफेंस। वहाँ पिछले कुछ समय में सहायक प्रोफेसर आदि पद पर काम करते 12-15 हिन्दू शिक्षकों को निकाले जाने की बात सामने आई है। हर सेमेस्टर में ऐड-हॉक नियुक्ति होती है, जो अगले सेमेस्टर में औपचारिकताओं के बाद पुनः बढ़ा दी जाती है। पीड़ित शिक्षकों के एक प्रतिनिधि ने मुझे फ़ोन कर के बताया है कि उन्हें चिह्नित कर के निकाला जा रहा है और उनके जगह मूलतः दूसरे रिलिजन से संबद्ध लोगों को रखा जा रहा है। वैसे, कॉलेज का एकाधिकार है कि वो किसे रखें, किसे निकाले, परंतु उसका कोई उचित तर्क होना चाहिए, जो यहाँ नहीं दिखता। कोई भी मेनस्ट्रीम मीडिया इस भय से इसे नहीं डिटेल में नहीं बता रहा, क्योंकि ट्रिपल इंजन की सरकार BJP की ही है। अतः केवल 'नियुक्ति पर उठे प्रश्न' कह कर ही बात बताई जा रही है। मैंने इसे स्वतंत्र रूप से सत्यापित करने का प्रयास किया है। 9 मई को जो लिस्ट आई है, वह मैं हिंदू नाम को चिह्नित करके रख रहा हूँ। इनमे से दो नाम ऐसे हैं तो SC हैं, पर उन्हें किसी मिश्रा या सिंह की जगह रखा गया है। 24 की अनारक्षित सूची में केवल 5 सवर्ण हिंदू हैं। हिंदी और संस्कृत में इन्हें हिंदू ही रखना पड़ा, क्योंकि इनको हटाने का विकल्प नहीं होगा। जिन्होंने 5-5 वर्ष यहाँ कार्य किया है, उन्हें बिना किसी उचित कारण के हटाया गया है। इस संबंध में कई समाचार भी प्रकाशित हुए हैं, जहाँ यह कहा गया है कि DUTA ने इस नियुक्ति प्रक्रिया पर प्रश्न उठाए हैं। DU का एक पैनल इसकी जाँच करेगा, पर ऐसी जाँचों का क्या होगा, मैं नहीं जानता। स्टीफेंस UGC से फण्ड आदि लेता है। इनके प्राचार्य पर भी कुछ आरोप हैं, पर वो कभी और। @EduMinOfIndia को लिखने का कोई अर्थ नहीं है, ना ही @dpradhanbjp को क्योंकि इनको शायद ही पता हो कि ये सब क्या हो रहा है। सवर्ण अभी एक अच्छा पंचिंग बैग है, @narendramodi समेत, जिसको जहाँ अवसर मिल रहा है, वो लात मार रहा है। PS: मुझे और भी सूचनाएँ दी गई हैं कि VC और भाजपा-संघ से संबद्ध लोग इस पर हाथ धरे क्यों बैठे हैं। मैं उसे सत्यापित करने का प्रयास कर रहा हूँ।

Totally in agreement with @PMOIndia on curtailing travel, fuel use etc. If it’s a global crisis, and beyond our control, self discipline will be the best foot forward. However, I also have a suggestion for @narendramodi ji. 🙏 Sir, collectively we have close to 5000 MLAs and MPs in India. Whenever they move, official vehicles aside, they are accompanied by hordes of followers and supporters. Never seen even an MLA with less than 5-8 vehicle convoy. And sometimes these cavalcades run into hundreds of vehicles. And political leaders, across parties, travel daily to multiple locations. The convoys never shorten nor stop. You can add 2-3 independent vehicle convoys to immediate families of entire number too, just for calculations. Collectively, we are talking about hundreds and thousands of vehicles daily, running for no apparent reason other than accompanying the leader and ‘to be seen’, and clocking millions of miles each day. Sir, if you can direct these leaders, to cut down these illogical miles, it not only would help the present initiative, but also set a case for better future where twenty cars with horns blaring on roads don’t push commoners like us aside because the leader has to travel by supersonic speed to fashionably arrive late at his / her next function. You’ve been a common citizen like us. You didn’t inherit the chair and power. I’m sure you understand the sheer insult and disgust we feel when bulky bouncers and cops hanging out from pilot and other vehicles just shove other vehicles around. So you will be resolving this crassness and unruly behaviour too. Practical problems are surface repressions of deep rooted cultural issues. Like your Swach Bharat initiative. No amount of infrastructure can keep India clean if we don’t stop throwing garbage on roads. I think, in the same manner, car pooling, minimising travel, not running ACs in cars in parking because the VIP cannot ensure 20 seconds of heat while the car cools when AC is switched on, traveling by public transport - all are more of cultural issue than practical ones. And I’m very sure, a step taken by leaders will go a long way in making your initiative successful, sir. Jai Hind - An Indian citizen.

But before the call even connects, telecom companies play long warnings like “your plan is expiring soon, please recharge” in two languages. During this warning, the actual call does not connect, and valuable time gets wasted. In emergency situations, even a few seconds matter. These repeated recharge reminders are extremely frustrating. We already know when to recharge. Customers should not be forced to listen to long, nonsensical warnings. Please order all telecom companies to immediately stop these nonsense warnings before calls, or allow the call to connect while the warning plays in the background. Be serious.
