@mlycan12 There is an SEC baseball team that only allows parent/fan interaction after games IF they win. Lose and it is heads down straight dugout or bus. Parents may travel 800 miles to an away game and never get to talk to their kid. I disagree with interaction being based on game result

This post has clearly touched a hot button! No one is more about family than we are and we often boast that we will have more fans at away games than the home team! Love all of our parents making big efforts to come support us home and away. However, we do have a rule that no parents are to stay at our hotels (most of our travel is by bus). We call our away games “business trips with teammates” and expect everyone to be locked in on our single focus of winning a game. I think where you are talking about players being paid to participate via scholarships and now of course NIL this is a reasonable expectation. My personal opinion is that parents traveling with the team and/or staying at the same hotel presents a pretty big distraction. Save that for post game.

@uTeeBaseball If Grandpa wouldn’t yell “get off my lawn” I might think about it. Whether HLP works or not is irrelevant, the fact that he won’t have an adult conversation with anyone is all I need to know. Not a “coach” anyone should want their kid to be around with the way he treats people

@Seth_3773 Allow as much as anyone wants to do….as long as we bring back the game policing itself. Catchers get plowed, hard break up on double plays, throwing at batters, etc…

Okay, someone tell me why this is okay? What’s the benefit to this? Then on the other hand tell me why we shouldn’t allow this? Let’s hear both sides….

@theaceofspaeder You think Vlad is the only guy who has ever hit a ball that wasn’t a strike. It happens several times every game.

Again, it has nothing to do with that. It is about whether or not the ball can or cannot be hit into play by more than just Vlad Guerrero Sr. If it cannot be hit into play, it is unreasonable to call it a strike. Yet again, this is lost on almost all of you.

@Seth_3773 Are the Harlem Globetrotters not basketball? Basically every guy on the Bananas played P4 college and minor league baseball. They actually can play pretty well.

Okay so I have come to the conclusion that you can enjoy the Savannah Bananas but it’s important to not think of it as baseball. It’s just a show to be enjoyed. Kind of like how stripping isn’t about dancing. It’s baseball adjacent enjoy it for what it is, just keep it out of real baseball.

@Seth_3773 Umpires need accountability and to take responsibility. I see comments like it’s coaches and parents, bs this is why. The attitude is we are down numbers so we can suck and it’s ok and you can’t do anything about it. Coaches and parents have always yelled, it’s not worse now

Wow. Just absolutely terrible….. these guys are getting $80-140 a game this is awful, this is incompetent. Great pitching though, why throw it across the plate if he’s giving you that.

@Kyle2SB @gif_tannen The batters box is not a “safe place”. The rule states it is interference if the batter interferes in any way intentional or unintentional.

@gif_tannen I thought the rule was as long as you were in the batter’s box it couldn’t be batter interference. Am I wrong on the understanding of this rule?

So if the ball is down the middle and called a strike then the challenge is that you think it is a ball. You are challenging to reverse the call. You can’t just automatically signal and say only use it if it goes against me

@17Eyeball @BrianHurt1 @heero_time @_nateschwartz As far as I know you get to retain your challenge if the challenge is correct. You only lose your challenge if the challenge is wrong. If Im wrong than yeah its dumb, but from what I know you retain if you're correct.

This was considered "not quick enough" to challenge the pitch. Absolutely ridiculous and I hope umps don't try to abuse this
