My baby sis @chocolateclipse is already working 2 jobs while helping to take care of our mom. She's almost done with her Bachelor's but has run out of financial aid. Any amount can help. gofund.me/2050daf4

The system only works even, partially, if the defense attorney checks the gov’t. I don’t give two shits if my client did it, if the govt violates my client’s rights. You should be grateful for that. Because by fighting for my clients rights, I am also ensuring yours.
Dissident West@dissidentwest

Has there ever been a case where a defense attorney was just overwhelmed with guilt for defending a client that was too evil to defend? Or are they all sociopaths?

So many prosecutors/former prosecutors are responding to this with a version of “I mean *I* never put an innocent person in jail,” and the fact that they are so sure of that without questioning it is exactly the thing I’m pointing out.
Alyssa Leader@alittleleader

People always ask this question and never “do prosecutors ever feel overwhelmed with guilt knowing they’ve put innocent people away?” Or “do prosecutors ever worry they aren’t doing justice when they destroy someone’s life over crimes of addiction or poverty?”

Anyway, my job is to fight beside someone in their darkest, scariest moment. Sometimes I am the only person on the entire world that is standing beside that person fighting. It is an honor and privilege to be that person for someone who needs me. Every case, every client.

No one asks “do the prosecution and the police ever feel guilt because they didn’t have their ducks in a row and therefore someone who did something heinous wasn’t held accountable.” Somehow, instead, it’s always the fault of the defense counsel who should feel guilty, I guess.

@dissidentwest I don't understand how normies continually ask this question yet never ask how prosecutors live with the fact that they occasionally put innocent people in jail. Criminal law is morally difficult for both sides, but both sides are needed to maintain a just system.
