The Ballroom was pitched as a project that would not cost taxpayer money. Now, Senate Judiciary Republicans are requesting $1 billion for security features related to it (how much of that $1 b on the ballroom, it doesn't say)

The hostage crisis ended because Iran knew that if they didn't release the hostages by the time Ronald Reagan took the oath of office that the US would bomb Tehran into oblivion. The Ayatollah didn't mind being a martyr, but he wasn't stupid.
Carter was weak, Reagan was strong. The Iranians knew this.

The morons are people impressed by arguments like this. The hostage crisis was resolved when the U.S. and Iran signed the Algiers Accords in 1981. You might as well say that a conflict with Japan would not be a new war, on the grounds that they attacked us at Pearl Harbor in 1941

Lee lost the war. Grant won it, first in the west, and then by crushing Lee on his home turf. Trump is buying the “Lost Cause” image of Lee, which sought to portray him as blameless and noble. In fact, Lee supported slavery and killed countless Americans in defense of it.

Trump on Civil War: Why couldn't that have been settled? Maybe it could have been. Robert E. Lee was an amazing general. He took something that was supposed to end in a day and made it last four years. If Gettysburg didn’t happen, he would’ve won.
