Canada will continue to be a leader in welcoming and integrating newcomers and refugees. Today, I was excited to speak to the @metropolisconf about our plans to strengthen our country through immigration.

@marcomendicino Why do you allow post march 18 COPR holders to enter from the USA but not the rest of the world. Is not this discrimination. Please #free_copr_after_march18

Tomorrow it will be one year since borders have closed, and there are still approved permanent residents who are not allowed to come to Canada. @ChristineNorm is recommending for Canada to exempt COPR holders. These are people Canada approved for immigration during the pandemic.

1 year ago today, I announced the 2020 immigration levels plans, my first time as @CitImmCanada Minister. We continue to set ambitious goals to welcome people to Canada, to grow the Canadian economy & enrich our neighbourhoods - doing so safely during the pandemic.
