@retricrock @ForCarmine37 I don't ignore facts, I acknowledge them. What you don't acknowledge is achievement in spite of weaknesses. Not only don't you do that, you revel in every loss like tonight because it sustains your grievances. Well celebrate while you can, because this will turn around again.

@1Avory1 @ForCarmine37 You insulting my intelligence is annoying. You act like you know more than everyone else. You don't. The facts are the facts. They're pretty good at pitching and suck at everything else. I can't help that facts are impervious to you.

Guardians fans don't want to hear this, but it's time for a change. The FO has had an amazing run, but being unable to dev MLB hitters is an organizational failure. You can blame ownership for the payroll, but the Rays and Brewers consistently do it. #guardsball

@castrovince @NotAnMD33 As for this year's team, did you not assume Jose, Kyle, and Kwan would be pillars? They haven't been. Have not Chase and Travis been better than our RF and 2B last year? Hasn't Rocchio been better than the total SS production last year? The catchers? Now we wait on Jose and Kyle.

@castrovince @NotAnMD33 Tell me, was it a "forever shame" when CLE didn't build a pitching staff to support Thome, Manny, and Kenny? Was it a "forever shame" when CC didn't close out the Red Sox in 2007 with a championship in his grasp? Nah, you never talk about that, it's just a "forever shame" now.

@castrovince @NotAnMD33 Right into first place the majority of the time. But let's go ahead and carp first, then commend later (at least until we get eliminated along with 28 other teams) then the carping can resume, am I right?

@1Avory1 @NotAnMD33 Literally never said they were a failure. I touted their success and said it’s a shame they couldn’t do more offensively to take it to the next level. Happy scolding. Nice to see you haven’t lost your charm.

@castrovince @NotAnMD33 This team has won 92, 76, 92, 88 the last four years and is contending again in a sport of attrition, a game they have proven year in and year out they know how to win. But you're chalking them up as a failure...yet again. I'm OK, clearly your powers of observation are suffering.

@1Avory1 @NotAnMD33 First sign of weakness? Are we talking about the Guardians offense? Just making sure you are saying this is the Guardians’ offense’ first sign of weakness.

@retricrock @ForCarmine37 Ah, because the verdict is in on all these young players, eh? How about Baltimore's crop of "can't miss" young hitters? How has that worked out? Boston's? Cubs? Please, stop acting like what CLE struggles to do isn't something you see all around the league.

@1Avory1 @ForCarmine37 They do have a good farm system, but what are they doing when they get to MLB? DeLauter has been decent. Bazzana is not on par with several of the guys drafted around him. My issue is with the failure of the FO to develop hitting. That's facts, not an agenda.

@castrovince @NotAnMD33 The only ones "scolding people" are folks like you who constantly shout "shame" at the first sign of weakness instead of intelligently addressing broader issues and educating fans about reasonable expectations. But no, climb aboard the critic train! It's what pays the bills.

@1Avory1 @NotAnMD33 "…that neither acknowledges the league average offense over the last 45 days or that the team will undoubtedly address it as vigorously as it did the SP woes in the winter of 2024." I was just remembering that 45 days bit and promise from the guy who's always scolding people.

@castrovince @NotAnMD33 Shame! Shame! And Jose is in the forefront of shouting "Shame!" indignantly like you are, isn't he? How easy it is for outside observers to tut-tut about trade aggression or spending on free agents who rarely pay off. The minute they try and fail, people like you shout "Shame!"

@1Avory1 @NotAnMD33 Jose's in his mid-30s. I give front office praise routinely for what they do with limited resources, but that's almost entirely on pitching front. Forever a shame they did not have development or trade aggression or spending capacity to better surround a prime superstar.

@CChangeAudio @willhoo99 The Angels are not typical. They wanted to unload O'Hoppe's $1 million. It's a pretty incompetent organization overall, but I doubt anyone's going to steal Detmers.

@1Avory1 @willhoo99 also the market seems absurdly low for quality reliever right now. make an offer for someone now. Rangers got Silseth for nothing.

@retricrock @ForCarmine37 Every team has strengths and weaknesses, do they not? Most CLE fans have zero perspective concerning the baseball team because they don't follow the sport closely enough. They act like there has been no achievement at all.

@ForCarmine37 @1Avory1 Avery, here's my issue with you, you dismiss anyone who finds any fault with this organization as bad fans or "self-loathers," as you put it. I said they had an amazing run. However, when a team is consistently bottom 5 in every offensive stat, there's a problem, is there not?

@BaseballSamrva @MDSmalls23 The worst part of this organization has been its talent evaluation in position players, particularly their offensive skills. That has significantly changed if one believes in Genao, Ralphy, Walton, Caceres, R. Arias. I'm skeptical of profiles like Laviolette and Schubart though.

@BaseballSamrva @MDSmalls23 That you can't have it all in a market like ours. Our focus is on run prevention and run suppression, and winning games late with an elite bullpen. Beyond that, you build around core bats. No team's offense could survive their Kwan, Ramirez, Manzardo's being as bad as ours are.

I think Zack does a great job, is one of the best media guys in Cleveland, but every idea thrown at him to improve the teams hitting situation in the next week he basically shit all over on his podcast. Can’t have both
Jordan Zirm@JordanZirm

Zack's Meisel's entire piece on the Guardians today is rightfully scathing, but this paragraph is the crux of it. there's never an indication of what the front office is trying to do. they win the division, then treat the offseason as if they finished dead last
