“NGMN’s latest guidance provides operators with a clear framework to understand where and how simplification can be achieved, and to assess its targeted benefits against domain-specific goals and constraints, enabling informed deployment choices aligned with individual business and regulatory environments.” The NGMN Alliance recently announced new guidance designed to help mobile network operators simplify #5GNetwork operations, to reduce total cost of ownership ultimately enabling more reliable, efficient and innovative services for the benefit of customers. In its latest publication, NGMN outlines a high-level framework that can be used as a reference by MNOs in their journey towards 5G network simplification. According to a new forecast report published by Dell'Oro Group, #RAN market conditions are stabilizing. Highlights include: 1️⃣Worldwide RAN revenues are projected to grow at a 1 percent CAGR over the next 5 years. 2️⃣RAN can go through periods of higher and lower capital intensity ratios as operators align investment needs with the availability of new spectrum and demand for capacity. 3️⃣RAN as a share of wireless capex is expected to average in the 20-25% share range over the forecast period. 4️⃣Base case forecasts stable RAN and capex trends resulting in further improvements in capital intensity ratios before #6G investments commence.
