Peter is not correct about me in this case. I have always known that dangers from Earth will also pose dangers to Mars. Obviously so. However, the immense difficulty of traveling to Mars means that there is a much higher likelihood of mitigating risks originating from Earth. A clear example of major risk reduction would be a deadly pandemic. Since it takes 6 months to reach Mars, there is an automatic 6 month quarantine! Even traveling at the speed of light, a deadly computer virus or AI attack can potentially be stopped due to Mars being ~4 to ~20 light-minutes from Earth. This doesn’t mean that a Mars civilization eliminates all risk, but it absolutely greatly reduces the risk of consciousness being extinguished. Moreover, Mars is a stepping stone to extending consciousness broadly within our solar system and ultimately to millions of stars within our galaxy, which would extend the probable lifespan of consciousness as we know it by many orders of magnitude. That said, what I personally find most motivating is not the risk reduction aspect of extending life beyond Earth, but rather the inspiring nature of exploration and being out there among the stars! Perhaps we will meet aliens or find the remains of long-dead civilizations that lasted millions of years …

i top blasted $2.4m of fartcoin (down ~12% rn). screenshot attached. some context, i spent all of 2025 convinced meme mindshare had topped. recent events made me reassess that. i kept coming back to the same question. why does retail buy crypto? every cycle the answer is the same: as a lottery ticket. a shot at turning $1k into $100k in a month. and in a bull run, memes pay out on that bet more often than the actual lottery does but i have zero experience hunting new memes at $500k market cap and zero edge doing it. i'm too old and lazy for the trenches and i like being concentrated in a few charts i can actually watch. so if i wanted meme exposure the criteria became: timeless, universally funny, tied to nothing that can go stale. fartcoin fit that well. everyone farts. a 10 year old laughs at it and so does my mother. it spent stretches of 2025 leading risk sentiment through fomc meetings while triggering every tradfi account on this app. it topped at $2.5b, a fraction of what the big dogs hit in 2021, and it's only one cycle old, so the lower highs death spiral that kills most alts hasn't had a chance to form. this is a long term play. no, i don't know where it bottoms, i could be underwater for a long time waiting for risk on season. that's okay, im good with my entry. i started buying down 92% from the high with a bullish divergence printing on the weekly rsi. the divergence alone is a coin flip, but it did make me feel better about hitting the buy button. the underrated part: buying a meme lets me turn my brain off. no roadmap to track, no team to lose faith in, no tech thesis that can quietly break. the whole idea fits in one line: if times get good, people buy funny things and hold them while they go up. people will ask for a target... hot air rises.

Avant l'introduction de SpaceX ($SPCX ) en bourse, je me suis beaucoup intéressé à l'exploration spatiale, aux ressources minières de Mars et des astéroïdes, ainsi qu'à leurs perspectives économiques et financières. J'en suis arrivé à la conclusion que la colonisation du Système solaire sera extrêmement difficile, voire irréalisable à grande échelle, en raison de nombreuses contraintes physiques et psychologiques que l'être humain supporte mal. Parmi elles figurent l'absence de champ magnétique sur Mars, qui expose les astronautes aux rayonnement cosmiques et solaire, ou encore la poussière lunaire, particulièrement abrasive et dangereuse pour les équipements comme pour la santé. Ce sont quelques exemples parmi tant d'autres. À mon avis, les entreprises spatiales comme SpaceX ne pourront, de notre vivant en tout cas, afficher un fort potentiel de croissance que grâce à une demande essentiellement terrestre comme les communications par satellite, les lancements commerciaux, les services en orbite ou encore les missions financées par la NASA et d'autres agences spatiales. Donc dépendantes des organismes étatiques dans un premier temps. Mais cela ne veut pas dire que je ne m'intéresserait pas à moyen terme à $SPCX
