Google's @antigravity CLI is so bad it reminds me of GPT 2. The exact same models I used in Gemini CLI effectively are worse than useless

They removed CD/DVD drives from devices.
They made physical media harder to buy and use.
They removed expandable storage from phones.
They pushed us into streaming subscriptions.
They made always-online normal.
They made unlimited internet necessary.
Then slowly raised the price of everything.
Ownership quietly became renting.

they thought it was claude's monet instead of a claude monet
Jediwolf@Jediwolf
What happens when you post a real Monet and say it’s AI? The coolest art social experiment I’ve seen in a while. Thank you @SHL0MS

We just partnered with the Musk Foundation to give out $175k in grants to advance the frontier of collegiate rocketry.
This is in addition to the $390k we’re already giving out to collegiate teams building propulsive self-landing rockets.
When we first started, people laughed and told us what we were attempting would be impossible.
2 years later, several student teams have achieved both TVC and throttled hotfire with liquid engines, and they are making fast progress on their hoppers. We’re already seeing hover attempts at a collegiate level!
These kids are doing this on 0.001% of a typical rocket budget, dedicating 80 hour weeks without any pay to build some of the most capable rockets outside of industry.
The reason why so many people fall in love with space and rocketry is because it is proof that humanity is capable of the impossible.
We want to continue to advance that mission.
Back to work.

‼️🚨 ALARMING: Google now treats privacy as suspicious behavior by default. Users of GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, /e/OS, and other deGoogled Android phones are being locked out of millions of websites unless they install the exact Google Play Services software they deliberately removed.
GrapheneOS is recommended by the EFF and used by journalists, lawyers, and activists in high-risk environments. The audience most likely to read Google's data practices and refuse its terms is now flagged as fraudulent for that exact decision.
What happened?:
▪️ Google announced "Cloud Fraud Defense" at Cloud Next on April 22-23, 2026, branding it "the next evolution of reCAPTCHA." Existing reCAPTCHA customers were auto-migrated.
▪️ When the system flags traffic as suspicious, the old click-the-bus puzzle is gone. Users get a QR code instead.
▪️ Scanning the QR code requires Google Play Services running on the device. Internet Archive snapshots show this requirement has been live since at least October 2025, silently rolled out for 7 months before anyone noticed.
▪️ No Play Services = no QR scan = locked out.
The bigger picture:
▪️ Google already tried this in 2023. It was called Web Environment Integrity (WEI), and it would have let Google decide which devices were "real enough" to access the web. Standards bodies and the public pushed back hard, and Google killed it. Three years later, the same idea is back, just hidden behind a QR code instead of a browser feature.
▪️ reCAPTCHA runs on millions of websites. Every developer who keeps using it is now, by default, telling deGoogled Android users they're not welcome...

I repeat, the bubble is in the "e" not the "p" in today's PE ratios.
The hucksters and talking heads will, as always, fail to realize until it's too late. But it's a very simple set up.
Hyperscalers give OpenAI/Anthropic cash to pay for hyperscaler computing capacity. That cash then circles right back around into the "earnings" of the hyperscalers.
Meanwhile, free cash flow for the group has officially gone negative and they're raising record amounts of debt (on and off balance sheet) to plug the gaping holes in their financial statements.
So yes, please keep telling me about how $META $AMZN $GOOG and $MSFT are "cheap" on PE ratios where the E is a total mirage.
Let us know how it ends (hint: not well, bob!)
Jessica Lessin@Jessicalessin
Good lord. Half-ish of the cloud backlog at Microsoft, Oracle, Google and Amazon is OpenAI and Anthropic????

Yep, pretty much a Buffett clone. 25% of the portfolio aped into call options on negative-earnings meme shitcos.
What part of the cycle?
Sumit Behal@sumitkbehal
Leopold Aschenbrenner is the Warren Buffett of AI regime He is 25 years old, got fired from OpenAI, made his AI thesis public, launched Situational Awareness fund, bets on AI infra, delivered 47% alpha over S&P 500 and now manages $6 billion You can just do exponential things

@45_akki @SaffronChargers this looks like something from the north east

do you have any idea about this, @1geek0?

the current fear is is that AI homogenizes culture and turns humans into passive consumers
one counterpoint: in Go, human play showed very little improvement from 1950 to 2016 until alphago beat lee sedol - then human decision quality jumped. players started developing moves that were distinct both from previous human moves and from the novel moves introduced by machine intelligence
this seems more likely to me - fun times ahead

Started logging my musical listening. Since I listen to quite a wide range of music (Hindustani classical to Algerian rock to Japanese Nagauta), I thought it’d be nice to log and share.
Here’s the first edition. I plan to write roughly every week.
I’m hoping this brings more recommendations my way!
