@Breaking911 From above and below the canopy looks huge but straight on from the pilots view the canopy is actually only a few feet thick and at speed would be difficult to see which is why it is the job of both pilots to keep an eye out in every direction especially slow moving pilots.

@TheProjectUnity It was an ancient part of a wheel. Take this piece as the center and then the rim of the wheel has similar curved pieces in the opposite direction and you attach ropes or maybe even rubber ropes between the two and you have an ancient form of a wheel for a cart with suspension.
