Same-sex attraction IS itself sin. Not merely the act, but the thought.

@sola_chad Okay so Jesus “agreed” (I’m not sure sodom and Gomorrah was a homesexual thing). But he never talked about it, did he? You can’t point to words attributed to him. Just that he was “there” in some sort of divine way. But you can’t say he “talked about homosexuality” can ya?

@Diversity_2112 @JendersII The word consensus is neither vague nor magical. Inconvenient is the word you’re looking for I think. Show me where the threefold division of law is. I’m assuming you’re thinking Acts and the council of Jerusalem. Show me where that delineation is.

@2001Roy33 @JendersII You brought in this magical, vague "consensus of scholars," you can deal with the existence of the field of bioethics. And the threefold division of the law is well theologically established in Christian history from Scripture.

@Diversity_2112 @JendersII Well if it’s not in the Bible then how do I know it’s gods word? You just brought in Christian ethicists, a new definition for masturbation, something called moral law (which isn’t in the Bible) and called it the most absolute and static law (how are there degrees of absolute?).

@2001Roy33 @JendersII Because actual Christian ethicists agree that anything that intentionally foils the end of the marital act is immoral. Sexual ethics pertain to moral law, which is the most absolute and static law there is.

@Diversity_2112 @JendersII There seems to be a consensus of scholars who disagree with you. Anyway, would it ever be possible to conceive that some of the Bible is at least influenced by cultural norms or beliefs of the time that have no applicability today? We treat other parts like that. Why not this?

@2001Roy33 @JendersII Any act of the intentional spilling of seed outside of the designated marital end falls under the sin of onanism, (Genesis 38) which is foiling the end of the marital act by whatever means.

@The_FJC They are facing down the menace of Russia. For generations we promised them they could count on us to protect them. That protection is one of the reasons they could remain a democratic and capitalist bulwark against Russia.Telling them to fuck off and figure it out is a dick move.

Germany has the 4th largest economy on earth. Built entirely under American military protection. Trump pulls 5,000 troops and they call it a betrayal. Betrayal. America rebuilt Germany from rubble in 1945. The nerve of these people is absolutely staggering.

@sola_chad The Bible doesn’t say that. It condemns same sex acts (like all the cultures in that area at the time) but it says nothing about homsexuality. They didn’t understand same sex attraction, brain chemistry, etc. they thought sex drive was in hair and same sex acts would ruin the land

@SFT_Ministries @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter No. I mean was your analysis of the conclusions of pre-existing studies, and your use of those conclusions properly to test new theories, made subject to scrutiny of scientists/scholars who would be able to assess flaws in your premises, methods and conclusions

@SFT_Ministries @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter I’m sorry. I feel like we aren’t saying the same thing and I’m willing to admit it might be me. If the studies upon which you based your conclusions were published and peer reviewed then great. But did your use of any conclusions or extrapolations from them also get reviewed?

@2001Roy33 @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter As I said, all of the studies have been published and peer reviewed. Some studies go as far back as the 90s others are as recent as 2024. They all confirm the same thing.

@SFT_Ministries @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter It doesn’t pass every single time but it does pass a lot of the time. Engineering standards evidence potentiality but not that the supposed event happened. There are all kinds of other reasons, themselves observable and repeatable, to think it did not.

@2001Roy33 @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter We can literally take how the Bible describes the arc & remake it to specifications & then test it to see if it’s true. it has been done multiple times and it passes every single time. @SFT_Ministries @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter I didn’t say anything about SC being a creator. I was actually talking about distant generations’ archaeologists wondering who Santa Claus was and trying to prove that he was real.

@2001Roy33 @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter But there is no text for Santa Claus being a creator, and therefore no scientific predictions can be made based on the model. No physical evidence anywhere and no claims to be made that we can test.

@SFT_Ministries @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter In 2,000 years they might say the same thing about Santa Claus and characters in Beatles songs. We have all kinds of origin stories that millions of people disagree on.Also, not sure what other evidence you have a flood that kills all but 8, but I’ll enjoy hearing about it.

@2001Roy33 @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter A global catastrophic flood with eight survivors mentioned by people groups around the world, including a tower of Babel story seems pretty statistically improbable without it being true. And that’s just one piece of evidence

@2001Roy33 @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter Because the flood is still a theme of judgment by God that wipes out our humanity and only 8 survivors with some other similarities. Only 1 can be true. I’ll stick with the one that passes scientific simulations

@SFT_Ministries @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter If they are completely different stories then why would someone say that one is the original and the other is a distortion. I didn’t make any argument about influence or overlap. Mine was chronological. Yours is now completely different than the OP

@SFT_Ministries @genxbaptist @ArkEncounter Then the sum total of the argument as I understand it is: Noah’s ark is the original. Gilgamesh is a later distortion. Not because there is evidence of this chronology (there isn’t) but because we say so. That’s not an argument. It’s a bald claim with no proffered support.

@MickamiousG Because that’s exactly what many people who claim to believe in god do—they pick and choose what scripture they will follow and use as their social cudgel, and stuff they negotiate away. But they can’t adopt everything. That’s why people use scripture to point out inconsistency.

Make a post about Christianity. Attracts the Atheists and Former Non-Practicing Christians. The ones that don't believe in God, but are always willing to use Scripture at the very first opportunity to try and counter your point... How can one not believe in God, or Jesus, but then pick and choose when they want to use scripture?
