In Peter Kagwanja's article, he talks about Ojwang's death as a long tradition by authoritarian regimes of using torture as a public ceremony and death as a public spectacle to intimidate revolutionaries, but in his case, as with Jesus' death, it has stirred the revolutionaries.

The Kenya Medical Research Institute is facing possible closure after the government did not allocate any funds to the institute for medical research in the budget for the 2025/2026 financial year.
KEMRI is now depending on the UK Govt for funding to sustain its operations.
