Going to defend Zendaya here for a second. I know everybody's sick of dei and things like that but the reality is casting is not fair. It's never been fair. You cast according to beauty, race, sex, and somewhere down the line talent - all of which is fluctuates depending on the temperature. She can clearly act and irrespective of the race thing, she's very beautiful (if you don't cherry pick shots to disparage her like any celebrity). More importantly I don't really think I've ever heard any politics from her. She's not lecturing or making identity politics her main thing, or if she is it's very muted. She's a genuine movie star doing the apolitical movie star game, and that's probably one of the main reasons she's so successful. She's uncontroversial. She fits in, does the work, and doesn't lecture you. We need more actors like that of any race. In Hollywood where everyone is telling you how to think, she just entertains in big pop movies and doesn't distract from that. Give her all the roles as far as I'm concerned.

The cinematography is bland, the framing is boring, the sets look cheap, and so does the armor. This trailer is not good. Maybe it will get better when they release the next one, but this...it ain't it." Is he right about this?

Whether people's issues are with the casting, the language, the use of the word dad instead of father, the cinematography, the wardrobe, or the overall look and feel of the movie, the truth of the matter is this trailer has done The Odyssey no favors. Maybe it's better for the film to set expectations a bit lower at this point. They started marketing this film a year in advance and it has raised expectations too high. Marty Supreme made the same mistake which cost it at the Oscars with 9 nominations and zero wins. If the film is as good as we hope it will do well at the box office and during awards season and this trailer will be long forgotten.

@jondelarroz The odyessy , it isn’t only a problem with the casting , what they are wearing with clothes. It is also problem with dialogue. In Greece ancient never use Daday or DAD to call thier father. Nolan could use father instead DAD.

Robert Pattinson saying "you're pining for a daddy you didn't even know" is everything wrong with modern Hollywood writing. We call this "millennial writing" in the industry, as it's adding modern therapy speak into everything. They really added touchy-feely demasculization to what's supposed to be an action epic. This movie is going to be a disaster. What did you think of the trailer?
