In an appalling act of hate, the Israeli delegation we are hosting had expired milk thrown at them while tabling at Toronto Metropolitan University with StandWithUs Canada and @ssi_tmu. Their table, titled “Ask Me Anything,” was created to invite open dialogue and thoughtful questions about their lives in Israel. Instead of respectful engagement, though, they were met with a hostile act that silences conversation rather than encouraging it.
This cowardly attempt to desecrate a Jewish-held space is, sadly, not new in our country and was an unfortunate way to kick off our delegation’s visits to Canadian campuses. A police report has been filed, and we expect the City of Toronto to take this matter seriously and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
