@Shakarez It's good. I rarely handle cash in Poland. I also remember that banknotes are filthy (in every country) so prefer the Polish way.

Poland Diary, day 46. I still haven't seen what this "Złoty" currency looks like. Digitalized payments are everywhere, everyone pays with their bank card, their phone or "Blik", a stark change from Germany where the population uses physical bank notes and coins. I hope that one day I will get to see what złoty and grosz looks like.

@SandyofCthulhu Well said, the area of of London where I lived was the main Habesha hub with many great restaurants. Shiro wot is my favourite dish.

Ethiopian food is the one great cuisine to come out of Africa. Ethiopians are hard-working entrepeneurs. I was so happy that when I lived in Dallas there was a good-sized Ethiopian community and so we had a huge range of Ethiopian restaurants. Now I'm in Utah where there are only two (2) Ethiopian joints and they're within a block of each other. I miss their food. Several nations have made recipes based on raw meat (steak tartare, carpaccio, hackepeter, carne apache) but the only one I loved and wanted more of was kitfo, which has such a strong beef flavor. One of the cool things about their food is that they are Coptic Christians, and they obey fast days. So they fast from meat every Friday, all through Lent, and on various Saints' days. One Ethiopian woman told me they had to abstain from meat for like a third of the year. As a result they have a vibrant, delicious, and varied vegetarian cuisine. When I'm specially hungry I order the vegetarian platter with doro wat or lamb tibs or other meat in the middle. When I'm just normally hungry, I get the vegetarian platter. All Ethiopian places serve this.
